Significant investment by FPP has been made

Of course it is. If we wanted a loan we'd have gone to a bank. If they wanted to operate as a bank they'd have set up FPP Bank Ltd and probably loaned to less risky customers than a slightly ailing third division football club. Sounds like they don't want the risk of being shareholders at this stage (if we don't do well the value drops). Instead they loan money so they can at least get 100% of it back if things go badly. If the money is well spent and we go up then they can convert it into shares and away we go, safe in the knowledge they've already invested in infrastructure to hopefully make succeeding and getting better returns in the future that bit easier. If they're concerned about risk it seems a sensible way of doing it
You're being sensible and level-headed man, behave!

This 👏🏻

I think some on here would’ve only been happy if it had all collapsed ala the Nixon “exclusive”. We’ve got 3 (possibly 4) billionaires taking a vested interest in our club. I know we’re a long way down but the only way is up!
4, possibly 5 mate 🤑

Nothing to say that Madrox won't just loan that to SAFC in turn either. Everything is just speculation at it stands at the moment.

I await analysis from @Grumpy Old Man in a few days time as he will understand things a lot better than I am ever likely to.

Seems sensible, and agreed.

In fairness, it appears Nixon was right re a takeover collapsing. FPP set up a holding company, it was reported by sources close to the clubs hierarchy that the investment was more akin to a takeover with Donald staying on as a minority shareholder and running proceedings. That isn’t happening in that fashion. This investment is clearly a very different arrangement

It is. But it is also still VERY good news. Let's just be happy about it and see what unfolds over the next year or two.

Good news none the less?

Surely people aren't speculating whether they'll just take the money?

Investment into improving the club is of course good news. I think, without knowing the terms of the transaction, it’s very difficult to say it’s good news about the club’s future ownership. We don’t know if this is a short term loan to solve the current owners’ cash flow issues (with FPP gaining returns if we are promoted perhaps) or if it’s the first step to them fully getting on board with the club and moving into more of a position of control. At face value and in theory it should be very good news, but if it’s a loan that leads to nothing further down the line then it’s indicative of the club struggling financially.

let’s wait and see to see if more detail comes out before we get completely carried away as has been the case in the past.

Good assessment!

Jesus, any potential good news is immediately met by some on here with tin foil hat theories, you couldn’t make it up.

Tits on here would rather concentrate on analogies of mcgeady hitting a skoda as opposed to confirmation of our involvement with one of the richest men in the universe.
