I think he’d get in ahead of Embleton, O’Nien, Gooch and even Maguire. Doesn’t hurt to have more attacking options.
Very true, especially when his wages won't be huge and it will be good for Ozturk to have a little Turkish mate. Always good to have another player from the same region/country to hang out with.

mcnulty plays behind the striker..hoineyman played behind the striker..

Completely different players, one is a midfielder who harried players further up the pitch and the other is a striker who can drop slightly deeper now and again but has played mainly as a striker for us up to now
We have five right-sided centre-backs and no left-sided centre-backs. That seems somewhat unbalanced to me.

We also have about 500 central midfielders who don't like to cross the halfway line and about one attacking central midfielder

The poster to whom I was responding had questioned whether the squad was ‘unbalanced’. My point was that there was an obvious imbalance in the centre-back contingent and one that was having the effect of making the functioning of the team look lopsided.

You may be correct in your assessment that we have an under-supply of attacking midfield players and it may be that Ozturmer is the answer to that deficiency.

However, I think that redressing the lack of left-back cover and the aforementioned imbalance in the centre of defence are higher up the list of immediate priorities.

That is not to say that signing players can only be undertaken in strict priority order, but given limited resources and time and the fact that SAFC’s transfer process is normally glacially slow, I would prefer for the focus to be well targeted this time around.

wlliot embelton? luke onnien?

Maguire has been better playing more central.

We’ve McGeady & Gooch. Watmore potentially if he manages to stay fit.

Yes, McLaughlin at RB. I’d personally look to move Flanagan on. If he plays CB he’s poor but the excuse is he’s a full back. He’s been poor out wide too and then it was “he’s a CB”

Truth is we’re heading into a long season with only Ozturk & Willis. Baldwin out of favour with the manager. Loovens finished. And Flanagan? You keep saying he’s not a CB...

We make this mistake every season of not having proper depth in the squad. Within a few games we’re shifting players out of position
for the 3 behind the striker we have

McGeady Maguire Gooch first choice and
Kimpionka Embleton Watmore second choice

McNulty can also drop back to the number 10 role.

I would love to see someone really creative like Maddison come in but it is far from a massive priority.

I would agree that we desperately need a centre half and a left full back and the team is really short of players who can hit it with their left. I would like to see us have a look at Joel Lynch who I believe is still out of contract following release by QPR at the end of the season. He's a left footed centre half but he is "only" 6ft 1 so him and Willis may be a bit lightweight together.

I’m taking about creativity out wide.

Kimpioka won’t be played until he signs a new deal. No guarantee that will happen

Watmore is injured again. I agree, if he could stay fit then he’s a strong option up there. Will we ever get him fit though

We’ve McGeady & Gooch. Is Embleton a natural wide player? Thought he was better playing off the striker. I could be wrong on that one

McNulty & Maguire are both better centrally too.

We lack natural width/wingers. We also don’t have many natural full backs either. Hume & McLaughlin. O’Nien has been pushed there and Flanagan is “apparently” a full back.

Been able to stretch teams has been a problem for a while. We need another dimension to the squad. And pace

Might as well throw in height and strength too ;)

In the podcast, Kimpioka didn't even know, SD had made him an improved offer fhs.
Just sounds like the agent will try and move him on and get a nice little cut. I'm not sure he will even make it as a very rough diamond.
Hasn't panned out well football wise for Asoro, whilst how is Maja, doing at Bordeaux? Getting a game?

Maja scored the other night and I think he may have started the game as well

It amazes me how much power the agents still have over players, young or not. Surely not all players are so gullible?

Players should get training from a young age on how to deal with agents. Plenty of examples where promising players have disappeared due to agent advice.
