It’s actually not barmy at all. The team only really got going once the defence was addressed in January and the return of Jack. From that point onwards. I think that only once before has a team gained promotion after changing manager half way through the season. 5th is a false sense of security for you and by the time that the play offs arrived, nobody wanted to face Villa.

We have (or will have) a very strong starting 11 come the start of the season.

As a couple of said there are two examples of clubs being promoted and spending what seems like ridiculous amounts of money - Wolves and Fulham

Those two clubs outcomes are almost polar opposites but they both had to put up with spending what the current costs are for players in 2019. You can't get away with just spending 2 million on a player anymore unless you want to be a Huddersfield and get absolutely battered.

Villa appear to have done enough so far that they have a good chance of not being as shit as at least 3 other teams next season.

It's pretty laughable to suggest they will be better than wolves but they shouldn't be a walkover

On the basis that the cream always rises to the top. Currently, I don’t think there is much between the 2 teams. Maybe wolves just shade it but they could quite easily go backwards this time around.

Villa are no different to Wolves in 2019.

Do you think players give a fuck that you won the European Cup decades ago. If the cream rises to the top why are Wolves signing top quality players while you are signing Tyrone Mings

They had 1 good season, just like Burnley did a couple of years ago. When they consistently finish top8, maybe I’ll give them credit but until then, I don’t have any real reason to think they are better than us.

Burnley got top 8 from graft.

Wolves got there from quality football huge difference. I don't even think Grealish would get in their side

Have wolves actually signed anyone? I know we hijacked their Konsa bid. We’ve improved our squad drastically whilst wolves have stood still.

Mings is a quality player and will surprise many this season.

Who's going to score the goals for Villa? You lost your goalscorer to Chelsea. Then Grealish hasn't really done it at premier league level.

Villa might do alright this season, or it may go wrong. No one knows yet

The only definite at the moment is that you’re one of those “bores” that people will go to great lengths to avoid if they spot you in a pub
