The only example he gave of something he considers unhelpful is fans getting in touch with a paper asking them to try and dig dirt on the owners. I would imagine you can also throw into the mix people who invent conspiracy theories then peddle them on places like this. He says so called fans because people like this aren't supporting at all whilst doing this, they might go to matches, they might not, but if they want what's best for the club they have to realise that shit like that be harmful. By all means question things, they even brought GOM in to discuss finances etc, so they're being as open and honest as owners of a business can be (but even then they have people effectively suggesting that GOM is in their pockets and the likes).

If we don't do good business in this transfer window and we start poorly it sounds like he fully expects and understands criticism. I imagine he'd be fine with people criticising the decision to keep Ross should that happen. Be as miserable and unhappy with our situation as you want (with good reason tbh), all he's saying is not to go around spreading disinformation, making libelous statements (like we've seen on here recently) and trying to get the gutter press to target them so that they have to waste time dealing with that instead of getting on with the job. I think it's fair enough

We are moving in to twilight zone levels of ridiculousness here mind. If there are rumours to that effect, it would be easy to guess who is putting them out and their reasons for doing so.

If our fans are being blamed for recruitment failures and even for articles that are published by national newspapers then every single supporter should be pointing out how absolutely ludicrous that notion is

Nevertheless, my point was that Methven says a lot of things that are deemed as being taken out of context by some. At some point, when will the wider context (I.e that he is abrasive and divisive) be fully considered?

There was so little evidence of players being abused by Sunderland supporters either home or away last season. To suggest otherwise is completely disingenuous.

If we’re talking about twitter, we are absolutely no different to any other club. In fact, if you ever look at reactions to Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or Man United games, we are relatively tame

I have a view of your response to my comment and expressed it, I am not sure how that constitutes abuse. You invented things on my post to have a go at what I said so expect a bit back in return. If you want a reasonable discussion then stick to my what I wrote, I would suggest that's a reasonable suggestion for a conversation.

I didn’t invent a single thing. You mentioned a comment made by Methven taken out of context. My response was to highlight other examples where his words have apparently been taken out of context.
 
I presume not getting promoted has affected the number of new investors wanting to come on board. So much for the tinpot cup, fixture congestion and injuries...

I reckon we only had 13/14 1st team players last season and unless we can recruit well it may be the same this season!

If you weren't having a snide dig, why did you quote my comment? Quoting my comment then adding to what I wrote, specifically to have go at me, is inventing things. I don't believed the things that you wrote were out of context which, surprise surprise, is why I didn't mention them in my post, do you get how a conversation works yet? I am not really interested in your views but don't mind having a conversation providing you read what I write and don't try to add things to make your own points.

Read the article properly. He accepts folk have doubts and accepts questions are asked due to genuine concerns. But you and others just seem to want to be a victim of criticism by the management. You seem to dwell on things even if not aimed at you and then bathe in the negativity. Then you off-load more abuse. Weird state of mind!

Not once did I have a go at you at all like. Simply responded to the point you made about something Methven said being taken out of context on this board and added further points to suggest that Methven talks too much for anything he says to be dismissed as being taken out of context.

I refuse to read his propaganda. I want to see results on the pitch. This is achieved by their running of my club. He is a PR master, spin doctor.

I posted a few a couple of pages back. Criticisms of supporters, chucking the term ‘parasites’ about, playing the ‘were the best club ever to have played at this level’ card and then using it against supporters after people were disappointed with how the season played out (particularly his Metro radio interview), being condescending and rudely dismissive of the RR lad when he asked him questions he didn’t like and this most recent interview as well.

I think Donald always maintains dignity, is respectful and polite to whoever he is talking to or about; don’t necessarily think he is consistent with the content of what he says but he’s always respectful.

Methven is not. He comes across as a Flashman type character to me.

You added more of Methven’s comments to my post, which stated that a (singular) comment by him had been taken out of context. Not only did you add those things, after each item you repeatedly typed “Taken out of context?” an obvious attempt to ridicule me for making my original statement, if you can’t see that you really need to brush up on your conversational skills. I would also suggest to you look up the meaning of the word cabal, it is quite specific hence my comment that it was taken out of context
