I see Taylor and Aribo as a threat for sure. But they need service. Their midfield will be strangled as we did the other night.

I haven’t looked on the Charlton forum but they always seemed to have had decent fans. Undoubtedly there will be some extreme views (as there is from time to time on here ....).

I honestly think it’s a really difficult game to call and could come down to a moment of quality or perhaps more likely a mistake too settle it.

As for supporters having misplaced confidence- can you imagine how confident the Leeds forum would have been in 73!

He will never get £60m for us in a million years, agreed.

When we play well, we are pretty strong, and obviously when we don't we aren't. It isn't unreasonable for us to hope, even expect us to play well. We have been doing so quite a bit recently. I would expect the same from you.

I'm not having that...two weeks ago yes, but we've suddenly got a very large fan base as in only 1,200 tickets left.

None of us can work it out either.
Only thing I envy you for is travel time. Another 03:00 rise for me, fcuk being a vampire for a living.

Roland Duchatelet is a complete disaster. We only have Bowyer because he was the cheap option, the I don't have to bother option. We had a chance to sign Aribo up earlier in the season, and offered him less money! Rumour has it, he will be leaving us for the Premiership as soon as the season ends. He didn't play his best on Friday, but the lad is far and away the best talent in League One. When we played you first game, Bowyer was hanging on for players. He got Cullen and Bielik on subsidised wages from West Ham and Arsenal. They will probably be in their club's squads next season. He got Williams till the end of the season, heavily subsidised by Palace to put him in the shop window.

Above all, we have this miracle worker of a manager and Duchatelet decides to offer him a creative contract near the end of the season. Replace creative with rubbish and you can see what a disaster the bloke is! Yes, Bowyer has put together a very strong team, but win or lose next season is uncertain for us. If only we had the certainty of keeping Bowyer! As for Bowyer, he sold Magennis to Bolton and brought in Taylor. This bloke is 28 and looked decent last season, but he has been outstanding this. Honestly, he is teh best all round striker in League One. And Duchatelet offers Bowyer a creative contract. Bowyer is doing this for the fans now! And we have to persuade him to stay.

Duchatelet wants about £60m for the club despite not even paying a third of that otiginally and taking us down!

By creative it’s my understanding that the terms are so complex & unusual that Bowyer can’t sign his contract.

Your points already seen this and was curious what redeeming features @Gelan saw.

I think this is a pretty fair comment

Their play off game at home was probably their lowest crowd of the season or close to it. That’s a telling indication of a team whose supporters are not convinced their team is particularly good.

They’ve drawn an extraordinary number of games this season. A sign of a team and manager that is too cautious or no winning instinct ?

Or who have had a ridiculous number of incorrect red cards and have been naïve in the way they've played against sh*thouse tactics. Not mentioning that we beat them at home with a very late goal which hardly indicates no winning instinct. Also a team that only failed to score on only one occasion in the whole season.
Can't say Im confident but I wouldn't bet against us(what do the bookies think btw?)

My take on RD? Where do I start...He's my age (72) so losing the plot a little, has a few strange socialist ideals and dreams and doesn't get football...it's just a business venture to him. However, he does run us at a loss, he does provide funds for players (Bowyer got all but one of the players he wanted) he did scrap the network idea, and sack Meire. There is however a misconception regarding the fans mutual hate of Mister Duchatelet. If you speak to fans that do not use Charlton Life, most couldn't give two shits who the owner is, as has been the same in the past when we've had worse owners. Only 5 boycotters on CL atm that shows results erase hatred that wasn't really there in the first place...grown men doffing there caps to peer pressure is the top end of cringe. I've talked many into returning and fucked with the protest groups like you couldn't believe. It's my club too, and I'll not have it destroyed by hate.

There has never been a firm offer for the club, so this dream of RD out for any other crap owner is pure madness. Roland will keep the club because he can, moreso now as Bowyer has cracked the boycotts with decent football and results.

Take no notice of the takeover thread, just a disgruntled ex employee and a few keyboard warriors looking for kudos because their lives are shit!

I tell the truth 'cos I'm not frightened of it.

Isn't it a manager's job to get the talent in. Especially with limited funds! Some of us were moaning when we couldn't even fill our bench against you on the opening day, but Bowyer said he was waiting on the right players.

The other thing I didn't mention was selling our top scorer in January and thus losing him and a suspended Taylor for three games that probably cost us automatic promotion. If you ever feel like moaning about your owners, study the Charlton career of Duchatelet. This bloke is the biggest clown imaginable!

By the way, do you not think Aribo is the best talent in the league and Taylor the best striker. It wasn't meant as a deluded statement. I thought it was generally accepted around the league! It wasn't meant as a slight against McGeady, who is above this level for sure.
Spotting Taylor wasn't difficult - we were after him but our ground wasn't close to his house. Not on your own selling your top scorer in January either

Like any club, there are a minority that just don't get it. Roland is a billionaire, but we won't ever benefit from that. A very small number of our fans think protesting damages the club, I assume Gelan is one of those. The majority of us understand our future depends on getting rid of this disaster.

Bowyer and this season is a major bonus for us.

When and why did he buy Charlton? Was he out to make a quick buck?

He had an idea. He thought that with FFP coming in accross football, he could own a number of clubs and pool resources, significantly cutting operating costs. He found a geek operating from his bedroom scouting players and thought this was the football Moneyball! To be honest, it wasn't a totally ridiculous idea but anybody could have told him FFP was not really going to happen as he expected. He now realises his vision will never work and he is now trying to sell all of his club, declaring he no longer has any interest in football.

He formed a political party in Belgium that doesn't get any votes. He thinks he is a visionary, but he isn't!

I read the thread in question and I didn't see what the OP was on about. It is absolutely no different to on here. You have to laugh.

I think it is too hard to call. We saw pressure on our side on Friday and they did not react well to it. Having said that, it could be a good thing to have got that performance out of the way. In a funny sort of way, I sort of expect whoever scores first to let the other back into it. Probably best to enjoy the game and wish you well at the end, win or lose!

Has nee fucker on here told this fucker to fuck off yet for fucks sake?
