Haway man, 13 f***ing thousand for a home game v the mags, utter utter shite. You couldn't make it, what about the other 30,000 that managed to get to Wembley though.

I'm not going on Saturday as it is my choice, the same choice 30,000 made not to make the effort to support the lads against them fuckers who filled the away end.

It was the Mag kids whereas Wembley was two first teams, a bit different imo.

I'm saying it's double standards by people it's a choice if you go to a game, almost a whole stadium worth couldn't be arsed to support the team against them twats

That's fair.

I wasn't having a go for the record. Everyone is free to make whatever choice they want about attending or not attending games... I just don't understand why people wouldn't want to go if they could afford it and were able to make the game.

I pick and choose these days.I had an op last year that went wrong. My leg is fecked but I’ll be there on Satda. It means getting dropped off at the ground and being picked up after the game at the ground.
If we get to Wembley I won’t be there. I couldn’t do it.

I never thought I’d see Sunderland fans being entitled but those people saying I’m not going because ‘we should have been better’ or ‘we shouldn’t have ended in the playoffs’ are being just that.

I’m not pretending I go every week - I can’t - but this is our team and it’s the biggest game of the season. If we can get 46k for Bradford I think it’s a very poor show that we cant get at least 40k for this

People pick and choose if they want to go to a game or not. An extra 30,000 "fans" were desperate to be at Wembley for the checkatrade final compared to only 13,000 that turned up for a home game against our bitterest rivals
Like I say, what people choose to do I couldn't really care less tbh. I'll be there cheering my team on. If people don't want too, then nowt I can do about it. Think it's a bit shit, but up to them.

As the saying goes 'F**k em'

If all your bothered about is what the mags think then I give up.

It's a local rivalry mate. Whether it's best team/ noisiest fans/ most fans it gets brought up, both clubs want to be the top in every way.

If it was them we'd be all over it. Assuming we do get sub-30k like, hopefully we get more. I think the SOL will be jumping regardless though

Dress it up all you like 13,000 at home v the mags for a game they were right up for.

Fair do's. You're not resorting to calling people cowards and bell ends etc simply because they don't want to go to a football match

Get real .mags havent had it anywhere near as bad as us .record low point seasons in premiership .double relegations. Its also a ground with no atmosphere. Pains me to say it but they have a decent team at the moment.

There won't be 28000 there

I'm not 'dressing it up', simply pointing out that it's not as clear cut as you originally said.

I was at the Bristol Rovers semi-final and there were spare tickets.

So many of the 13,000, at the Newcastle match, didn't bother but may well have gone to Wembley.

The very simple fact remains that tens of thousands of our fans made a choice not to go a cup game against our biggest and bitterest rivals yet there's absolute outrage now when people choose not to go this game

It's the two leg situation that will put people off imo.

Even a 2 or 3 nil win won't mean anything until we see what happens down there.

People walking out of the SOL won't know if there was any point to what they saw tbh.

I haven't seen any absolute outrage tbh.

In our time at the SoL we've only ever sold-out one cup match at home.
There was no way we are going to get a big crowd by charging full price, especially when you can watch it on Sky.
It's not full price and is a set fee that all the other games are having to charge.. This is far more than a cup game and defines what league we will be playing in next season.. Anyone proclaiming to be a supporter and who is able to go should surely be going to this game..

Sorry mate but I'm laughing as that final paragraph actually sums up the whole season for me. I'm just tired of watching us now. Back in August hopefully with the feeling that we are actually moving forwards.

Haway man folk on here calling people cowards, bell ends, shit fans and so on

Sitting at 20,500 at the moment plus say 2,000 Pompey and another 1,000 corporate means its already at 23,500, shift another 2,500 each of the next two days like we did today and it will be 28,500 with the walk up to add on Saturday. The walk up will be significant and I think we will be looking at around 33,000 by kick off which is reasonable given the demands on peoples cash and the short notice and the fact the game is live on the telly.

I think if we get close to the average league gate that would be decent and the average league gate was just over 32,000 for the season.

All factors to a greater or lesser extent for the checkatrade final and thousands of bandwagon jumpers all managed to turn up for that.

The play offs give us a massive chance to move forwards ...

... I can't wait for Saturday tbh.
