Same here mate I've missed about 20 games over the past 40 seasons, renewed for this season as one of the 16,000 who did with Short and Bain running the show. Seen 6 straight defeats at Wembley including this year. Been to 4 c trade games this season including the mags at home, where the fuck were all these hyper-fans that night when the mags came through to take the piss. I'm not going on Saturday and won't go to the final if we make it. Renewed for next season so August is my next game unless there's a pre season away trip I fancy. Couldn't give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks.

You’re clearly an excellent supporter mate, so this isn’t a dig, just genuinely curious

Why “wouldn’t” you want to be there on Saturday? (Unless I’ve missed something and it’s just because you can’t get there)

It's nonsense. They have never ever played at this level, they've never been in the playoffs since Keegan v1. They've been through nowt in coE]
If we were on a run of wins and momentum had taken us into the playoffs we’d be buzzing and there’d be a large crowd.

Instead we’ve capitulated and are on the worst run of form we’ve had all season by a large margin. Despondency is keeping people away.

That said, I’m going +3 and we haven’t got our tickets yet

100 per cent right.also our record in previous play offs ect .after last 2 results people are not exactly inspired with confidence.

The Pompey home league game was excellent. Yes, it was frustrating in the end but we played well, scored, hit the woodwork twice and forced the keeper into a couple cracking saves.

I'm very much looking forward to this game and hope we get the result we deserve this time. Not sure why any supporter wouldn't want to be a part of it? But hey ho.

I have no excuse for not going, I've just seen enough for this season, not remotely bothered that some feel that makes me a bell end, spineless coward, shit fan and the other stuff trotted out on here.

However i'd have the same question for the 30,000 uber fans that didn't come to the home game v the mags this season but were prepared to kill for a Wembley ticket for the same competition. Only 13,000 safc fans for a home game against our bitterest rivals, a game they were well up for.

I am back next season though mate irrespective of the play off outcome so its no big deal to me. Someone above compared not attending to not reading the last couple of chapters of a book. This seasons book after showing initial promise has got worse with every page turn for months on end, the games are like groundhog day and I've no interest in reading or watching any more just for now. When I walked out of Wembley I decided there and then that I would not be back for a play off final if that's how things turn out.

On the positive side my mates son who can't get to the games as a rule due to work is in my seat on Saturday

Honestly thought we'd be at c.23k by the end of today with online sales too. Little concerned now, can't imagine how we sell 10k in the next three days.

Don't waste your time, explaining/apologising man.
You haven't had a go at those who genuinely can't afford it or who have made plans that can't be changed.
Your criticism of those CHOOSING not to go having gone all season just because they r cheesed off is 100pc valid.
I agree. OP is right. Why would you buy a season card, go every home game, then just fuck this off because you're pissed off we didn't finish top 2? Everyone has a choice of course they do, but I agree with OP and you, it's more than a bit shit.

People pick and choose if they want to go to a game or not. An extra 30,000 "fans" were desperate to be at Wembley for the checkatrade final compared to only 13,000 that turned up for a home game against our bitterest rivals

It's not as clear cut as you're saying.

There was no chance of me making a midweek night match in Sunderland ...

... going to Wembley, on a weekend, was a doddle.

You can't judge everyone from your own personal circumstances.

People that only go when a team is 'successful' are exactly what we all slate other teams for? Plastic support.

We absolutely cannot claim to be the best fans in the land if people wont go to a playoff semi final because we've had a couple of bad results recently.

Its pathetic man

But people will. The attendance, whilst disappointing for us, will likely be one of the highest in league 1 history. We shouldn’t worry.

Surely this isn't a dig at "fans" (as you put it) who chose not to go to a game against Newcastle but chose to go to the final when you're choosing to not go on Saturday?

Haway man, 13 f***ing thousand for a home game v the mags, utter utter shite. You couldn't make it, what about the other 30,000 that managed to get to Wembley though.

I'm not going on Saturday as it is my choice, the same choice 30,000 made not to make the effort to support the lads against them fuckers who filled the away end.

This game, despite people claiming it's massive, is in some ways irrelevant.

A draw, for example, would basically mean we just have an away cup tie.

If it had been away leg first the attendance, at the SOL, would've been significantly bigger.

I'm saying it's double standards by people it's a choice if you go to a game, almost a whole stadium worth couldn't be arsed to support the team against them twats

But we’ll still have one of the biggest attendances this league has ever seen. As fans we should be proud.
