Baby Killed

Its "always" the dogs fault Isn't it ? and they have now paid the price, and whenever these tragedies happen we have the same debate. Fact is more bairns are killed abused and neglected by their own parents year in year out. What does that tell you about the gene pool ?

Not a lot we don’t already know and it’s unlikely to improve.
Time to face up to reality.
Wether these killings are the dogs fault, the owners fault or a combination of the two,
the only way to stop the excessive number of fatal Staff attacks, is to ban Staffs altogether.

That one up ford a couple of year back that killed the baby was a terrier. The fact and it is a fact is that kids would be a lot safer without any type of dogs around them no matter what.
There’s only one thing stopping this happening and that’s dog owners defending their breed.

Ban staffs all together . Bollocks . I’ve got a staff . Got 3 kids in the house and he’s brilliant with them soft as out. To be fair tho I’d never leave a dog alone with a baby .

Really sad story this . RIP little fella

Sadly the “owners” are usually as thick as shit and unfortunately are not living in an environment which can be considered as user friendly for dogs.
Exercise is not a 2 minute walk around a housing estate with a studded collar and chain.

One of the best start up for dogs is at the puppy stage and get them surrounded by other dogs that are of a friendly nature.

Every time a child is killed by one of these breeds I end of saying “are you suprised” that alone is so very sad and all could have been avoided.

So he’s brilliant with the kids but you would never leave him alone with the kids. Why.
Not a wind up or being a dick just hear this all the time.
I feel the same so don’t have a dog.

I wouldn’t leave a dog with a helpless baby . I wouldn’t leave a f***ing cat in a room with a baby . It’s common sense. The kids are a bit older now and I can leave him with them no bother

I posted earlier. Dogs are a subject close to my heart. At the moment I have four rescue dogs running round our gaffe. We've been responsible for rehoming loads of others and had to let others go to shelters. Our focus, cos we run a local dog charity, is sterilisation and castration because ,iirc, there are something like 600,000 dogs abandoned here in Spain every year. The supply so exceeds demand. There's shelters here locally with over 900 miserable dogs living miserable, stressed lives.
In my humble experience any dog can be so poorly socialised, so badly or stupidly treated, and those early months are so important, that it becomes dysfunctional. Neurotic, unpredictable, dangerous especially around kids.
Breeds like staffies, if they are going to be secure and not a danger need space, exercise, a life that stimulates them and their pack leader, their owner, needs to possess huge energy and a character that matches their strength.
Certainly not a breed for divvies imho.
One of our rescues is a fox terrier, there was someone posting on here in another thread that thought the breed vicious, untrustworthy. Despite a year of being locked in a windowless shed before we got her, being fed on bread scraps, starved, flea and tick ridden after 3 years here she is so affectionate, so settled now, such a good dog that she is an absolute pleasure. But we have the time and the commitment and as a childless couple our rescues and foster dogs give us something to focus other losses on.
What am I trying to say?
I`m trying to say that dogs are really a product of their environment. That some dogs, like staffies, bred originally for bull baiting need owners with incredible skills to be fit for a domestic environment.
So yeh, it´s not the dogs, it´s the owners often straying beyond their levels of competence. taking on powerful machines bred for their fearlessness that need education, a good kicking and in this case a prison sentence.
Rant over.

Rank dogs, nearly always owned by rank people.

Oh get fucked. There’s amazing charities out there run by volunteers that spend so much time and effort giving neglected staffies a second chance after being beaten, dumped when most just want a home.

My 12 year old staffy died earlier this year and didn’t harm a soul in his life so don’t you dare tell me he was a ‘rank dog’

Did you leave him alone with ya kids mate.

"Our staffie it's the softest in the world, brilliant with kids..."

"... but I wouldn't leave my child alone with it..."

Says it all really.

No dog owner should leave any dog alone with a baby

Idiotic parenting says it all really

Wasting your time mate most brain washed idiots see them as one of the most evil animals on the planet and wouldn't have a clue at how great dogs most of them are

Only 3% of dogs in the U.K. are Staffs.
Yet 30% of killings are by Staffs.

Great fighters and Killers, yes
and no sign of the intelligence or sense of responsibility of many owners, changing anytime soon.

Only one way to dramatically improve the risk of serious dog attacks and reduce the carnage, BAN STAFFS altogether.

Nope great pets too not the f***ing dogs fault sone owners are fucktards

It’s not rocket science give exercise, love and attention and 9/10 you’ll get a good dog neglect couldn’t give a shit about it then it’s 50/50 same with the way some kids turn out due to fucktard parents

Wishful thinking.
It rarely happens and is unlikely to anytime soon, so the only way to reduce the risk,
is by banning dogs such as Staffs which cause ten times more fatalities than any others.
