Best Sunday carvery in and around Sunderland

Imagine treating Sunday dinner like it's some sort of fine dining meal. Only complete tits go on like that.

I’ve had some expensive ones Jamie and it’s money making BS, it’s like the 20 quid burger carry on. Best ones are home made by a mile if the cook knows their stuff

Yes the veg could be fresh if you are paying top dollar but the meat roasties, gravy and yorkies physically can’t be which are the key elements of the dish imo.

£10 for a main should see freshly cooked veg and an offer of how your beef is cooked I.e pink or not pink.

No chance for a Sunday roast mate it’s where they make their money now. A few slithers of mediocre meat and a load of veg that costs nowt. And every table in the place eating the same. It can taste good like but the restaurant kitchens are like army ones on a Sunday, easy day for them

I’ve only ever had the one carvary that I can remember and it was from the Hastings Hill and I wouldn’t fuckin’ bother again if they are like that. Al eat shit food if I have to but why anyone would keep returning to these places for the meals is beyond me, so bland.

But aye the Scullery is good shit to order from.
