Going here tonight.

Was a last minute decision so haven't given them the required 24hrs notice to sample the taster menu so will be eating from the a la carte menu.

Unless they are legends and manage to accommodate us anyway.

I’m doing the taster menu on the chefs table next month. Should be canny!
 
Turns out it's closed despite being able to book online. Disappointing.

At Mexico 70 instead.

i wonder if its because the college term is over? its always shut during half term and christmas holidays as the college wont open the building

I'm coming for you in the accessible field councillor!!!!!

Anyway Mexico 70 was good but not great. Took aaaages for the food to arrive. Service was very good though. The older guy (owner or manager maybe?) talked us through the menu and gave recommendations.

When it came the food was really good. The pork belly tacos were class.

Will go again. Solid 3.5/5 from Mux.

Yup, it’s closed till the 14th August. Had an email from them.

Done it in April for my birthday, wasn't many diners in that night so the kitchen wasn't at full speed but it was interesting all the same.. The chef was a canny lad, talked you through all the dishes.. We booked a 10 course taster but he put an extra couple in there.. Quality night out...
 
Absolutely going to try this. I wasn't aware of it but it looks amazing. Just had a look at their website and the credentials of the Head Chef are impressive, I've eaten his food a various other places. Huge coup for Sunderland. No surprise people saying it is the best.
