More rumours BSA is going to get sacked

They still spent over £20m on three players and £44m on another. If you’re spending that kind of money you expect to push on in the league. Imo Koeman built a squad where he couldn’t fit everyone in attacking wise and they were too one paced and predictable.

Man Utd spent £75M on Lakuku and Chelsea spent £60M on Morata. Everton are trying to compete at that level. As I said no chance over a season a 2.

Some right bitter replies in this thread which dissapoint me tbh, no ones expecting us to piss the league but the poor fuckers spending hundreds a year on seasin tickets want more than 10 behind the ball mustering 1 shot on target against shite sides like Swansea and WBA.

People forget he was only coming in for 6 months but because Watford and Shakhtar played hard ball with Silva and Fonesca he had us over a barrell for an 18 month deal.

Those saying it makes sense to keep him why does it? Marcel Brands is our incoming DOF from PSV (highly rated who Chelsea were after 2 years ago) who's style is completely in contrast to Sam - why spend £100 million this summer on Big Sam players when the next manager is likely to be a more continental style meaning we then have to waste even more money replacing the ones signed to suit Sams game!

I agree clubs do have to have a sense of realism, clubs like Southampton who sacked puel after 8th and a cup final they should have won were deluded when they have never won a carrot, barely spend money and weren't so long ago in league one.

Everton on the other hand are a totally different scenario as we have been in the PL era since it began and bar 2x 11th place finishes have been in an around the top 7 for the past decade. Its all relative I would pull my cock off for Wenger to manage us and win 3 FA Cups in 5 years but arsenal aim for more than that - Arsenal could hire a total dud and get relegated next year but thats the chance you take just like Everton.

Sam came in saying he wanted to show he was more than just a fire man and he hasn't done that imo - he inherited a strong side when playing with confidence with 4 key long term injuries back and spent £50 million in January on a good striker and Walcott and we are still hopeless when doing nothing but defending for 80 minutes of a game. The fact he's managed no one but regular clubs in relegation battles tell its own story.

Offer me for following:

8th/9th under Big Sam playing turgid football and no cup runs

Or

7th closing the gap on 6th with some decent cup runs and playing good football.

You also have to fit in that the club needs to start attracting fans to sign up for the new ground otherwise whats the point spending £400 million+ if the attendances aint increasing from the football on show. Liverpool playing well also plays a part, I know Utd fans who are fed up with Mourinho because City are doing so well playing fantastic football - I would kill for Utds season its all relative.

Should they not want better or just accept what they've got?
All clubs other than probably Man City and Liverpool would’ve like ‘better’ this season. Should we just sack the other 18 managers because the spoilt brats in the stands aren’t getting their fix of ‘Tika Taka’ Football?
Everton fans are embarrassing themselves with their sheer delusion.
Hope they get some ropey foreigner and plummet!

Everton are in the top 5 for biggest spenders over the past 2 seasons but lets not let reality get in the way of a view point.

Also - Salah £38 million
Siggurdsson - £45 million

Dele Alli - £5 million
Son - £18 million

Schneirderlin- £24 million
Bolasie - £25 million

Money spent doesnt always mean success - thats why we are bringing a new DOF in after the shambles Walsh has wasted money on.

Ambition of the club. Same as when we went down 2016. It was " right we are the biggest club in this league and we are going to walk it and come straight back up" we were even singing songs about when we win the championship in September. That's what persuaded Benitez to stay and the likes of Gayle and Ritchie to drop down a division to take us up.

If we went down with a "grounded" attitude and that we were going to do anything other than come straight back up then who knows where we would be now.

Yep that was it like. Not bags and bags of cash.

That obviously helps and fair play to Ashley for funding that but without that mentality of that we are definitley going back up there's no way Benitez would of stayed for starters.

The next couple of years are huge for Everton to push on - there’s chances to put pressure on the top 6 in coming years in my opinion.

Will arsenal get the new managerial appointment right - they need major overhaul of players too and could easily go backwards.

Chelsea are hazard being poached away from dropping quite a few points from where they are now.

Spurs - will the new stadium restrict them the way it did arsenal - will they be forced to sell Kane? If so they will drop off.

I'm not getting into a (very) tedious debate with you but I disagree massively. Nowt wrong with wanting better and to progress and Allardyce won't do that imo.

We'll leave it at that

All clubs would like to progress but people have to be realistic.
I’m revelling in the plight of Stoke and West Brom! Fantastic stuff!

Prob just because we plummeted once BSA left mate , I’d take him back here with no hesitation , it’s a classic case of be careful what you wish for although I understand that if you feel the football is negative and defensive then you want a change

From the outside it looks spoilt to want Sam out. He’d have had them comfortable top 7 again across a full season. (Think they’re 8th).

However Everton fans will know more about the inside situation. I remember people having a go when we wanted Bruce or Moyes gone.

Yes understandable that Everton fans want better but choosing the right manager is a risky business. Leicester were the absolute one off team that broke the cartel of the top 6/7 clubs, yet they sacked the manager who did it. There really isn't a hard and fast rule, except money almost always talks, except when we spend it

I gave him a lot more time than our other fans but he’s genuinely been abysmal this season.

Like it’s hard to believe he’s made it as a footballer bad.
He was more important to us than Zaha, him leaving was hard for us, as fans, to take. We relied on a player who relied on his trickery, I can't help feel that he's too afraid to attempt movement he's always done without thought.

They're wanting to progress. They don't see Sam's mundane football doing that. I don't see the problem with that tbh.

They put up with Moyes for years so they have my respect(aye I know)

You sold your best player for £75M in the summer so you actually spent nearer £50M. Spurs have been picking up good players for decent money from various places over several seasons. You think you can do it over night.

You finished 7th last season but 8 points adrift of 6th. The top 6 are miles ahead of you squad wise so spending similar amounts as them is unlikely to bridge that gap. It might be big money for you but it isn't anything like huge money by top 6 standards.

Sam has done a good job and you're an ungrateful bunch IMO. Unless 1 of the top 6 has a terrible season 7th is the only realistic target you can aim for unless you can do a one off like Leicester. However, that only tends to happen every 35 years or so.

Allerdyce won't give 2 shits about being sacked. He was at Newcastle for 24 games and walked away with a 4 million quid payoff. He now makes a living out doing the same thing at every club. Great work if you can get it.
