Loves making an absolute tit of himself in public as wellLoves a payoff too.
Sunderland have always had a attitude of accepting mediocrity though and not saying anything that could be seen as ambitious or delusional incase they look like mags. Someone has got to break in there and will do soon enough.
Bloody hell, surely this season (or the 6 months he’s been there) was about staying up. You lot are like mags wanting instant success. Let him build over time ffs.If anyone is actually interested in the reasons it’s not worked out for him and can put aside the job he did at Sunderland then here’s some of them I can see:
1) The football has been horrible. Doesn’t matter whether it wasn’t when he was at Sunderland. It has been here.
2) Following on from point 1, we’ve lost interest. We don’t threaten wins over the top teams (even at home the best we can hope for is a 0-0 Draw) and have been comfortably outplayed when we’ve lost.
3) This is his biggest club job and his opportunity to show it’s not all about him and he’s failed. Throws the players under the bus when results are negative and takes all the plaudits when they’re positive.
4) Disrespected the fans on numerous occasions. Batted away criticism as “15 fans on the internet” and laughed at fans when asked about any pressure.
5) We want to be better than 7th and/or win Silverware. Allardyce’s entire career suggests he isn’t capable of that. Don’t forget we only actually wanted him for six months. He played a blinder to make it an 18 month contract.
6) This is a minor and petty one. He keeps taking credit for a 4-0 win when he wasn’t even in charge against West Ham.
7) This is a big one. Serious question marks over what he can do with our young talents. Davies desperately needs to improve on the ball which won’t happen under Sam. Lookman was shipped out to Leipzig (Sam wanted him to go to Derby) and has tore it up whilst Sam preferred the dismal Bolasie. Calvert-Lewin and Holgate haven’t seen much game time either.
Worth saying that he wasn’t actually at your club for very long and you could easily have been fed up quickly with him yourselves had he stayed. As that’s what happened with O’Neill, Di Canio, Payet and Advocaat before him.
I smell mag.Is it ambition or delusion? Newcastle fans still constantly get called deluded even though it’s a club with zero ambition under Ashley and one where the fans are happy just to avoid relegation. What’s the difference ?
This is what I was trying to say when people were calling for Coleman's head.Aye and Rafa's getting the Accrington job...
We are in league One. How many more pathetic threads are we going to have linking Premier League managers with us?
I suspect a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when we do exactly what we should be doing in our position and appoint a lower league manager on a modest salary who knows the lower leagues.

Would you say Everton have a unique brand of football?? Because barring a couple of seasons here or there Evertons style of play has been crap for a few decades nowSome right bitter replies in this thread which dissapoint me tbh, no ones expecting us to piss the league but the poor fuckers spending hundreds a year on seasin tickets want more than 10 behind the ball mustering 1 shot on target against shite sides like Swansea and WBA.
People forget he was only coming in for 6 months but because Watford and Shakhtar played hard ball with Silva and Fonesca he had us over a barrell for an 18 month deal.
Those saying it makes sense to keep him why does it? Marcel Brands is our incoming DOF from PSV (highly rated who Chelsea were after 2 years ago) who's style is completely in contrast to Sam - why spend £100 million this summer on Big Sam players when the next manager is likely to be a more continental style meaning we then have to waste even more money replacing the ones signed to suit Sams game!
I agree clubs do have to have a sense of realism, clubs like Southampton who sacked puel after 8th and a cup final they should have won were deluded when they have never won a carrot, barely spend money and weren't so long ago in league one.
Everton on the other hand are a totally different scenario as we have been in the PL era since it began and bar 2x 11th place finishes have been in an around the top 7 for the past decade. Its all relative I would pull my cock off for Wenger to manage us and win 3 FA Cups in 5 years but arsenal aim for more than that - Arsenal could hire a total dud and get relegated next year but thats the chance you take just like Everton.
Sam came in saying he wanted to show he was more than just a fire man and he hasn't done that imo - he inherited a strong side when playing with confidence with 4 key long term injuries back and spent £50 million in January on a good striker and Walcott and we are still hopeless when doing nothing but defending for 80 minutes of a game. The fact he's managed no one but regular clubs in relegation battles tell its own story.
Offer me for following:
8th/9th under Big Sam playing turgid football and no cup runs
Or
7th closing the gap on 6th with some decent cup runs and playing good football.
You also have to fit in that the club needs to start attracting fans to sign up for the new ground otherwise whats the point spending £400 million+ if the attendances aint increasing from the football on show. Liverpool playing well also plays a part, I know Utd fans who are fed up with Mourinho because City are doing so well playing fantastic football - I would kill for Utds season its all relative.
according to wiki , they were 13th when he took over after beating hammers 4-0. I agree though he has done an excellent job and from an aoutsiders view the fans behaviour towards him is embarrassing, no wonder people are wanting them to get their just rewards. He’s finished 8th with a side who game prior to his appointment were 17th!
Job done and will leave with a nice pay off and can stick two fingers up to those deluded fuckers who live in their neighbours shadow.
Hopefully they get their fancy foreign name and they sink like a stone!
He was crap though. That hasn't changed and won't change because the next manager mightn't be as famous as him. This is what I was trying to say when people were calling for Coleman's head.
They were 17th prior to West Ham game which Sam watched from the stands. After that win they went to 13th.according to wiki , they were 13th when he took over after beating hammers 4-0. I agree though he has done an excellent job and from an aoutsiders view the fans behaviour towards him is embarrassing, no wonder people are wanting them to get their just rewards.
Outdone by WOY who took over palace when in 20th position mind.
Southampton fans thought they would progress after they got rid of Puel, look where that nearly got them. Too many delusional supports these days. They're wanting to progress. They don't see Sam's mundane football doing that. I don't see the problem with that tbh.
