Pros for buying SAFC vs NUFC

5 minutes walk from the city centre. Also if ever a good team is assembled roughly 4-5 thousand less than Newcastle. Potential for expansion to 63,000 if a very good team assembled. Much cheaper, with unlimited scope for improvement. I think Short is now on the verge of cutting his losses big time otherwise it could be catastrophic for my club. It rather depends who is taking over, if it's somebody with unlimited resources looking for a plaything either would do, but Sunderland is by far the greater challenge.

Investors don’t want big challenges do they, they want sure things. Sunderland’s current position doesn’t compare to Newcastle’s in that regard.

Shops, city housing, rural housing,night life, quiet life, schools. Every major city can pretty much offer the same. The primary consideration for them is how much will I get, is the squad decent and will I get a game. Currently at NUFC despite the location there is Benitez, Merino (Spanish u21 who left Dortmund), Jesus Gamez (signed from Atl. Madrid), Hayden (left Arsenal in London), Florian Lejeune (left Spain to come to the cold North East), Mitrovic (was playing champions league, came to the north east), Matt Ritchie (was playing in the PL on the south coast, dropped a division to move to the NE), Atsu (joined from Chelsea), Gayle (left London based Palace to come here) , Yedlin and Manquillo (have played for both NE clubs), could go on but I'm getting bored.

The location is irrelevant, the ones I've mentioned here are ones i thought would be an example of people who "downgraded" by coming to the north east.

Was the 2-2 game marra. He said the noise before kick off was the best atmosphere he had been in, saying he couldnt hear the team being read out. Not that it matters like.

For investors the reward may well be greater at Sunderland than at Newcastle. Newcastle have more or less tapped their potential over the past 2 decades while Sunderland haven't. To generate more interest Newcastle would need to win things and be a regular top 4 side. All Sunderland need to do is be competitive to begin with. We've never really seen what the possibilities are if Sunderland ever had a top 6 side never mind a top 4.

Investors don't want a gamble though. With modest levels of investment (in this market) Newcastle can be established as a top half side. We already have a lot of the things clubs need to be in that bracket; the stadium, the attendances, the manager, the media attention.

Sunderland would need investment in playing staff, need to find the right manager, have to rebuild the chasm between the club & the fans and so on.

Isn't it a simple choice between how much would it cost to get Sunderland back into a top half of the top flight team, vs how much it would cost to get Newcastle there?

There's a reason Ashley wants out asap and it may have something to do with a nasty situation in the offing. Sunderland and Newcastle are similar in size similar in loyal fan base why wouldn't an investor choose the much cheaper option if only to protect their investment if things go wrong. After all nothing is guaranteed in football.

We's be a hell of a lot cheaper that's for certain. But that obviously reflects where we are at compared to Mags.

What is Short expecting to sell us for?

Well I do seem to have hit a nerve with my HMRC comments. If it was my club I'd be seriously worried. However I'm not surprised; you come across as a bit thick and totally obsessed with all things Sunderland.
