West Park, one of the few really nice approaches into Sunderland, won't be if the council gets it's way. Green belt is becoming a complete joke.

It's Herrington mate ,just off Durham Rd past the board inn.SR6 tho. No back bone. Stick to your own side. We'll have no new houses here thank you very much.
Many ex council houses in Hendon and Pennywell were compulsory purchased so that the council could flatten those streets.
The big Victorian houses are exactly the type that exist in Jesmond and some of the best areas of most big cities. Most of them have garages st the back and gardens at the front.

Jokes on you I'm afraid.
Are we talking about the field where the cattle graze and it also has those magnificent trees?

That would require the council to think differently... impossible.
Continue to vote Labour and accept that sunderland has become a shit hole.
No it was a CPO. I know someone who had to sell his rental property because of it.Or was it gentoo buying them out rather than cpo?
Theres been examples of people not moving
It would also requite the council.......
... to be a property developer, which they aren't
... to spend a fortune on it & allocate staffing resources which they can't afford
..., to confiscate private property to sell off to the wealthy, which I can't see any of the main parties agreeing to.
Unbelievable. Are you on about when Hill Crest was built?
Yep.
They surely aren't going to get rid of the park?
I grew up round there and can confirm it was a young lads paradise playing in there.
Where is the next generation going to go?
Surely they won't all be sitting indoors on their mypads?
That roundabout can't handle any more traffic, it's chaos as it is, nee fucker can follow the lines to keep to the correct lane.
Have you seen the queues up towards Houghton cut at peak times ?any one of the many other green spaces that surround the area?
It gets a little busy a peak times but it's hardly chaos. Lots of busier ones around the city.

Try riding a motorbike round that roundabout, the amount of times Ive nearly been knocked off because arseholes can't stick to the right lane is ridiculous, there's too much traffic uses it as it is, more traffic will make it dangerous.aye it can get busy but it's not that bad

More people = more people who can't follow a lane, just because there's worse roundabouts in the City doesn't mean this one should be made worse.I don't own a motorbike. People not understanding the lanes is different to having an excess volume of traffic. There are plenty or worse roundabouts in the city.

Must admit. It only seems like normal traffic congestion you'd expect at an important/major road junction. It should be busy or something isn't right.Get a grip. It’s for a couple of hours a day. It means people in sunderland are coming into work in the city and people in sunderland are driving off to work.
I’d be more concerned if the roads were quiet.
Plus it’s the drivers and not the roundabout that causes accidents

It means there’s economic activity going on and a square patch of grass with a couple of trees is nowt to shout on about if it increases the chances of affordable homes in the city and prevents economic migration
