A stupid gamble on evil machines....

I put a fiver on an accumulator now and again then use winnings to put others on. Have rarely used the machines in the past and even then on stuff like 20p roulette where you might end up £10 or £20 quid up.

Can see why people get into major bother though when you can be betting those kind of amounts every single minute, its scary.

Put £50 in a WH account at the start of each season , that's football season .

Most I've had it up to is £120 on daft little bets over the season , worst case scenario is when I've lost the £50 I don't top the account up again till the start of next season.

max payout is £500 as well. which isn't massive if your betting £100 every 20 seconds,

Max single payout.. you can cumulatively win more than that. I love them tbh but it's about staying in control, only losing what you can afford (have a loss limit before you play and stick to it) and remember that whilst you can get a rush ultimately there's only one winner. Pro gamblers stick to sports and poker

Why? It sounds absolutely madness to me. It's fixed for your to lose.

Nah you can 100% get it upped to £100, of you go over the £50 stake a message comes up along the lines of 'to increase your stake, speak to a cashier about joining the high roller club' they'll sign you up to a grid card or whatever then every time you play you put that in and your default max stake will be set at £100
Don't even have to do that. If over £50 the machine prompts you to either reduce the bet, or print a ticket and take to the cashier. They scan ticket, you re insert into machine and all of your spins are £100 max (until you put more cash in, then you have to redo it all)

That's because it's not proper gambling. There's an element of luck but overall you WILL win if you're a 'pro'

I reckon I've wasted thousands on gambling, scratch cards, slot machines, on line gambling and stuff. I'm worse when I've had a drink , the feeling the next morning when I've lost is horrible. I've finally realised that I need to stop, luckily it's always money that I could spare and I've never been in debt.

I'm not. It's also the LAD culture I was getting in at 17 thinking it's cool but it's not. Now I've got at least £40 on bets a week.
Been there and done it, bad times.

I went to a cash point in Sheffield right outside a row of 5-6 bookies. It would only let me take £50 and paid in £5 notes. Can't work out if thats a good thing or not but it has to be linked to the location
u
Unfortunately a sign of the times

I never go on them and never will. I dont like the idea that they are neither skill/knowledge based (sports betting/poker) to a degree or random like roulette etc. I put a couple of quid on footy/golf/cricket online each weekend and withdraw any winnings above £20

Reading some of the stories on here is scary. I had no idea just how addictive they are and how much money people are ploughing in.

Is it an age related thing i.e., mainly younger people who have grown up with video games or is it across the board ?

I hope anyone who has any sort of concern that they have a problem can find the strength to seek help. I've seen gambling completely wreck someone's life (they took out a loan fraudulently to clear gambling debt) and spent time in prison for it.

Let's just say if I had a son around 17/18 I'd be slightly concerned. It's an epidemic in 18-30 especially.

No mate, I see people from all ages on them, taxi drivers especially. I work next door to Betfred and see the same faces every day on the machines.

Luckily, there's a lad who works there actually encourages them not to play on them.

I know a lad who worked in a betting shop and he said the machines can only pay out however much is in them.

That's worrying. Thankfully I haven't
Seen countless fresh 18 year olds spinning hundreds, car insurance money, birthday money, savings.. it's shocking
