..... it's difficult to get fired up for an away game at Scunthorpe United or St Johnstone.

But playing at the SOL, against the biggest club in Scotland, is a different matter.

I expect Sunderland to walk out to a home crowd, onto a pristine summer pitch, and put in a real performance.

It will dawn on the new signings just what a big club it is they've come to.

For the likes of Vaughan this will be a massive moment in their career and, for the 'wantaways' like Lens, Kone & Khazri might make them wonder if their next club will be so much better.
Sunderland are a decent club, with great supporters, and that needs to be imposed on the players we pay huge amounts to represent us.

I wish I could be there but hope every Sunderland supporter walks out proud to have seen their team play.
Do you understand anything about PRE season???

Imagine wanting to be at work instead of going on the piss then watching your team play

Our support is f***ing awful like.
The only thing that's not fucked up is our supporters and the support of the club. Mind it should be due to the f***ing shite that has been served up on the pitch in the last few seasons.

What's the match odds, because the massive Celtic are struggling in the champions league. Got a sneaky feeling here.

Yet we have supposed lads fans liking their every pisstake on everything Sunderland.

Like I said earlier, our " support "really is awful. Thank God the match attendees doesn't represent this place.

Aye It's gone right down the pan on here like. #topbantz is at a premium.

Probably better than any team, at the SOL, for the entire season just gone.
I'd go as far as to say ever! Yes, even in a meaningless friendly, I'd imagine the Celts to enjoy their day and make a load of noise. There's not really much to beat atmosphere-wise from away fans over the years.

I wasnt going to bother because no ones really going that i know of but im contemplating taking the bairn now like. We've got nothing else on and itll be a decent couple of hours out together and a little warm up before next Friday if nowt else.

TBH mate, I'll guarantee this will be a game that's talked about for years ...... go if you have the opportunity, the chance may never come again.

I have Mrs Reiver's family arriving, for a long standing weekend, so just can't get up there.

Even though it's a 600 mile round trip, for a friendly, I'd definitely go if I could.

Just go, you'll regret it if you don't.
