For all those posters who are moaning at every signing we are making

By the same token there'll be some who'll instantly declare themselves pleased with a signing without actually seeing them play as well mind.

I can only speak personally and say I've been pleased with a few signings based on a handful of games and, on occasion, not having seen the player.

I was pleased with Duncan Watmore and I'd never seen him play.

I'd heard various people, in football, praise his game and his attitude.

He was 18 or 19, quick and cost very little ....... I think he's been a good signing and think he'll be an asset this season.

On the flip side, Matthews had played in the CL and for Wales, was young and we were short of right backs.

For a couple of million he seemed like a decent bet ....... no sign of that gamble paying off though tbh

Not that I disagree with the sentiments, but John Terry was available on a free this summer and he turned down PL clubs because he didn't want to play again at Chelsea. He'd easily still get a starting position in most of the bottom half of the PL table clubs.

I think most people are just bellyaching because the shite we're signing suggests a lack of ambition and that we're staying down. When Newcastle were relegated they signed Matt Richie who absolutely smashed it in the championship and was Bournmouths best player when being promoted and still looked one of their better players in their first season in the prem. we've not signed anyone anywhere near that quality yet.
WE DON'T HAVE MONEY TO SPEND.

Personally, i've actually found this pre-season and transfer window way more enjoyable than last years. Sure it's a lower level on all counts, but i'm sick of everything about the Premiership and the whole Sky thing with it and the absolutely sickening prices players are being shifted for. To me the Premiership doesn't feel like football at all any more, just some fantasty play thing for the ridiculously rich. Our current level actually feels more real and it feels more about the football and the passion of playing the game.

We will be very lucky to finish mid table.
We will be in the top half, people are under estimating some of the players we already have for this league

surprise surprise mr negative replys with his intellectual comment of a smiley face

Am concerned we lack fire power. Let's see what squad looks like at end of window
The firepower is a bit of a concern at the min, but goals could be spread around, with Vaughan, mcgeady, watmore, hopefully another striker in, then the unknowns of whether khazri and lens will be here, plus maja if he can make the step up

I see the SAFC PR department are in full swing.;)

It costs money to get out of Championship, some teams are spending it, others aren't. The ones who are spending it are going to have a far better chance than those who aren't spending.

Obvious but you can see why people get frustrated, no ambition and little chance of promotion.

That we need a recognised Keeper, a new Centre half, a new Left fullback , a creative midfielder and at least one new forward with a proven record in this league. Mind I do set my expectation high.

Haven't we just signed a recognised keeper?

I think you over estimate some of the sides in the championship.

We've tried and failed with every other approach. Grayson is putting together a first team with a good blend of youngsters and experienced players. Perfect for this level of football. The young lads on loan have something to prove to their parent clubs. We're getting some of the academy lads involved who have something to prove to Grayson and he's brought in a few lads who know this league like the back of their hand.

A lot of teams have been promoted taking the same approach. Yes it would be nice to spend big and make a statement in the division but we're quietly going about business let clubs like Wolves Villa and Boro throw daft money around. Doesn't always work

Why are they throwing so much money around though? As if the premier league is the money drain that we're led to believe surely they'd just end up fucked even more?
