I might have told this on here already....
A few years ago I was fishing on Hadston beach in December, about 9 at night, it was very dark and rather foggy.
I cast out and put my rod into the tripod, then sat down on my seat- box to bait up the next rig. My head was down for 2 or 3 minutes. When I looked back up, the butt section of the rod was out of the cup on the bottom of the tripod, and the top and bottom sections of the rod were almost pulled apart. My first thought was that one of the lads from the club had crept up and done it, but the beach was completely empty.
Aparently, according to local rumour, somebody hung themselves years ago in the blockhouse at the top of the beach.
