Lisbon. Benfica or Sporting, and a cracking city.

This is by far the best answer, it's the best city in Europe anarl.

Going to Prague in a couple weeks and we're trying to get tickets for the Sparta game v Slovan Liberec.
Will let you know what it's like.
Tickets range between 170 - 260 CZK Koruna (£7/8 approx)

It will be absolutely shite tbh mate, like Sunday league and the ground is a shit tip. Obviously you will be pissed though so it wont matter too much.

I went to Ajax and Den Haag last weekend. Standard of football was abysmal, League 1 at best. Amsterdam ArenA is impressive though.

Isn't Rotterdam an industrial city? Mind you we'll be on the piss so the sights probably won't be high up on the to do list.

Yes, a proper city with some stunning architecture if you're in that. Good night life and pretty much no tourists which is one of the things I love about it.

Italy in general doesn't have a bar culture - certainly not in the sense it's meant here. You might find small, family run bars tucked down back streets and the occasional vinoteca, but you certainly won't find anything like Leidseplein in Amsterdam or Markt in Bruges. For most Italians, a drink is something you have with a meal
Yes, it seemed pretty odd giving the size of the city

Budapest - Honved. Went about 8 years ago with a couple of mates. Having a few drinks outside a boozer nearby to the stadium, a few of rough looking characters heard our accents and started talking to us. Not wanting any trouble I started talking about Martin Fulop and how class he was . Must have impressed them so they kinda took us around with them. They didn't like blacks or Jews mind

Planning to do Gdansk early next season if fixtures fall right, needs to be against either Arka (if they stay up), Legia or Lech
No game on when we're there. FA Cup Final weekend.

Didn't think there was owt wrong when I was last at Sparta's ground a few years ago

The last remaining proper ground in Budapest (In the top tier at least). On the list to do soon.

Poland is excellent and somewhere I want to return a number of times for football.

Went to watch Legia Warsaw a few weeks ago, opted for one of the most expensive tickets which cost £11. Was just a normal game and the atmosphere was unbelievable, loudest I've experienced. Great city as well and ridiculously cheap.

Yep, if you go abroad for the standard of football you're doing it wrong

For Belgian beer, good stadium and good atmosphere, Royal Antwerp is the one to do. The stand opposite the tunnel is phenomenal
What did you do for digs/travel in Poland?

There isn't but there's not much to it, is there? It's just a badly built, old ground; the McDonalds in the stand is about the only interesting thing happening. If you just want a piss up with the lads then yes Prague is excellent, but if you want a more football oriented weekend then it's not much cop.

Got an apartment on Airbnb right in the old town for about £250 for 3 nights, flights from Newcastle were only £30.

The airport you fly to from Newcastle is the furtherst one out but it was easy enough to get to the centre of Warsaw. Bus outside the terminal takes about 45 minutes, can't remember the cost but obviously wasn't much.

What's peoples opinions on Porto? Me and the mrs have been given £100 refund by EasyJet due to fare price promise and we're looking at Porto. Can fly there for free from Manchester

Barcelona is my favourite went for my 18 th went there for a game typical though the game i seen was 0-0

I took my son for his 18th. He really wanted to see a Messi goal. He scored twice in a 5-1 win then the following day we watched us beat the mags 1-0 at their place in a bar off Las Ramblas. Couldn't have planned it better if I tried :D

Aye I agree. I done Bohemians and that was class. Proper old school. Done Slavia as well but it was dead and modern

I found Warsaw to be absolutely shite mind. Old town was shit. Shame because I love Poland.

I've not done it but when you consider the amount of teams in Prague and the 10:15 kick off times on a morning meaning you can get 2/3 games in one for a proper football weekend it seems excellent.

Bohemians and Zizkov look great, think I'd only do Sparta for the derby but it always looks better at Slavia anyway.

Fair enough, I loved it but it was my first visit to Poland so obviously can't compare it to the likes of Wroclaw, Gdansk and Kraków etc.

Multi team cities mean you only need to worry about internationals or tv scheduling.
Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Rome or Athens cos you'll want the sun in October anarl.
Lisbon would be my recommendation. Though there were British groups taking in three games in Madrid in one weekend last month when I was ower there. Jordi Gomez was on the pitch for Rayo in the game we saw.

You're a better man than me if you can be arsed to spend a full day in Prague going to see pub league football. :)

Just thinking about last weekend there, at Den Haag they had a massive Juventus flag downstairs and a little shrine type thing with one of their shirts, really weird. In the stands before the game anarl they had a big Swansea flag on pole. Couldn't work out what the link was at the time, but I've just been reading this: http://www.groengeelhart.nl/vriendenclubs/. They obviously make a lot of 'friends'.

Den Haag - Legia seems to be the biggest friendship, seen bits of Den Haag graffiti in Warsaw.
