Hi Wakey, is the guy Sheff you mention the same guy I referred to. I knew him by his name. Is/was he JS?
He was covered in tattoos , including his neck. His family originally hailed from Amble? One of his many tats said Amble. Used to wear his hair in that 70's feathered look? Always curious to know what ever happened to him?

Small world eh ....... bet we all know each other

Does anyone know :-

1. the lad who runs on the pitch at end of 73 cup final and is in picture hugging Monty and stokoe ?

2. Eddie the eagle - Wigan 88

3. the lad who won us the LC home game v Chelsea when he ran on pitch and stewards took so long to sort, Chelsea went "cold" and we beat em 2-1. hope he got a ticket for final as we were dead without his intervention !

I was a mud slider but not Eddie, he really was crackers.

Class thread. I tend to come across random characters, especially in London. Fulham a few year back I got talking to a lad in the three bells who was down there working on the railways. He was by himself so I told him could stay on the piss with us. He had some sort of rail pass and ended up on our train home saying he was chucking a sicky and going home for a few days. Left him stood outside Durham station in the middle of the night, fuck knows what happened to him.

Sounds like the same lad mate.

I don't think we ever made arrangements with him ..... he'd just drift in and out of our vision and we'd back each other up if we were attacked.

I remember being at Burnley, when we had both full backs sent off, and we came out to a massive ambush ....... he just ran at them and we had no option but to follow just because of his personality!

A good lad, see previous posts on, for e.g. Pompey! Once at Sheff station we were near a group of lads from Billingham getting a hard time from Wednesday boys. As they came over the footbridge we decided ( without chatting) to run at them. They scattered, whinged to the polis & I got arrested ;) ;)

Bloody hell, small world ! It is the same guy. We prob know each other then lol. I remember him turning up at a mid week match at Roker like in November wearing a shirt, freezing and pissing down . Loant him my crombie and never saw it again!!!!

the jacket was buttoned up over his arms, class to see, sunderland fan riding the bike post game, coppers got him, sunderland fans got him out, and smuggled him away, heard on local radio couple of years later that fire brigade reported him when his mates asked them to cut the cuffs off

I was there mate, he was just a few feet in front of us when he jumped on the bike and sped off down the hill to a huge cheer. As we turned down the hill, we could see him down the bottom of the road by the petrol station, rolling about with 4 or 5 plod.

Remember the Bear = AB, yes. And Cal = CB, yes. And Gunner ? Maddest crew you'll ever meet. Original Vauxie's crew. Many of which still travel. All late 50's and early 60's now. Fine characters!

Aye, that was my era...All those you mention plus Kansas, Geordie Davis, Stan, Eccles, Slosher....overnight from Tennicks in Dundas St to the longer away trips was a fantastic weekend.

I remember a lad who'd lost the use of his legs and used crutches. Also a pair of twins. Went to all the London away games in mid 80's.If anyone knew them.

aye, remember a lot of bricks being thrown, he didn't get too far on the bike, then he was in front of us, jacket being put around his shoulders and buttoned up, good to see us looking after our own

I was arrested at Bramall Lane when I single handedly dropped 5 Blades who'd attacked me and my 15 year old brother in law, my finest moment

I was arrested.

The copper who arrested me told me, when I complained, that they always arrested the winners ...... I had the last laugh though, I went to court and pleaded not guilty on the grounds that I was making a citizens arrest.

The fuckers were so confused I was acquitted

Frankie, his brother Peter etc, we must have travelled together !! ;)

;)

I paid a solicitor £10 to write to the polis to say I was going to fight my case as I was just caught up in it all & in court it would be clear I had a local ( Yorkshire) accent ;) ;)

Used that more than once!!
