Would have been a good appointment in the summer but he probably wudn't have went then. Not sure he is what they need to keep them up.

Have not read his Valencia record mate, so he had had good squads in every job?

Proves it even more.

His record before Valencia was shit like ... Busts the myth about this "not being used to relegation fights" too ... He's had a few and failed everytime

Villareal and Osasuna sacked within a season with woeful records that would make Tuftys look good

took over Extremadura and got them promoted from spanish second division.... Relegated following season

quit... took a year out got a job at Tenerife and won the second division.

Somehow i have f***ing nee idea how this hapened, following winning the second division he gets the job at a champons league finalist!!

Be like Eddie Howe getting the Man City job after winning promotion to the Prem with Bournemouth!! Fair play to him mind he took his chance at the big time like

He isn't.
I think he means the mags delusion with his comment

His cv looks good as an overview. When you actually look into it, it's nowhere near the reputation he has.

He won the Champions League with Djimi Troare and Steve Finnan, shouldn't be too much of a problem for him.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

he won the Coppa Italia with Napoli, which they won the season before he went there too, however failed to get them near the top of a relatively poor Serie A and got them knocked out the Champions League despite spending heavily when he took over.
Napoli won EL didn't they ????

If they go down it'll be bizarre to see him in the Championship. Fair play, on the face of it, it's a very ambitious move, I can't understand why he's gone.

Plenty of posts on his appointment and how he will stave off relegation, but in reality, what will he do / bring, that will salvage a side that has underperformed all season. How exactly will he change that situation?

reported he has a walk if relegated clause in his contract... according to the local journos

Said he has an opt out clause should they be relagated. No way will he manage in championship

The only thing I can remotely think of is renewed hope and those who had clearly given up on the previous manger might actually care about putting a shift in for his replacement. It might mean a less poisonous home crowd than what might have been.

This. Other than cash, which I imagine he is no great need of, why would someone go from Real Madrid to a team strongly likely to be relegated which will look shite on his CV.
