Short Is Failing Us

we are downsizing and its not surprising after paying cuunts like phil bardsley 30m a week , we need to get our house in order and unfortunately it means at the expense of cashing in on our better players , how the hell we managed to bring in Giacherrini is beyond me but i wouldnt be surprised to see him leave within a year , its been one massive mother fuckin gamble bringing in PDC and trying to replace a whole side in one go and simply downright stupid , we look like we are going to pay for these dreadful mistakes with a spell in the championship unless there is a massive turnaround in the effort from what is left , we do have a handful of decent players but we need them to put in 100% shifts for the rest of the season to have any chance of survival . Poyet will try and stamp his authority on this lot its going to be a task and a half tho but even with a relegation we need to stick with him if we see his plans look likely to see a swift return , i hope he sees through a few of these pretenders like PDC did and acts accordingly but in a more professional man management style , these players owe this club for their lifestyles .

Earlier on you pointed the finger at Short selling Gyan and Bent. I am quit confident that if short had sold those two Bruce would have mentioned it every time he mentions 10th.

Do you think it's a good idea to have a go at a chairman in the media? It would make his future employer have reservations about appointing him if he disagreed with his decisions and was eventually shown the door. Not a good idea.

Ellis Short definitely isn't the problem at Sunderland, like. I can understand the frustration and he needs to have got the Poyet appointment right, but we are much stronger with him than without him.
Agree. But I think he would certainly benefit from having someone on the board/advising him regarding football matters, and with a clear vision of where football-wise, the club should go. Because to my eyes, that appears to be certainly lacking. The people he has surrounded himself with, may be good business people, but they would seemingly do well to remember that the main 'product' of the club is actually football, premier league football at that. And to deliver a strong 'product' and maximise his own investment, clear focused investment in the playing side is required, and balancing the books every season - certainly at the expense of selling your best players and then hoping for the best, clearly isn't the way to go.

I don't want him to walk away. I want. Him to succeed but if we do go down, serious questions need to be asked and he should be made accountable for his decisions.

It's his new transfer policy/appointments that have gotten us in this mess. The buck stops with him.[DOUBLEPOST=1381582407][/DOUBLEPOST]

You asked me, I answered. He had a very good game against Chelsea away. If you think otherwise then it was pointless you asking the question as you are willing to lie to try to prove a point.

How many great games have Johnson, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, Fletcher had that you can remember?

Those were the people Sessegnon was playing with. Fletcher and his goals aside, the others have been well below par. To single our Sessegnon is nonsensical.

Show me where I lie you are using the sale of Sess to beat the current chairman with and the players you listed are still at the club, its another debate as to whether they are any good . I know that doesn't suit your agenda but to suggest people lie just to ignore a differdent view point is pathetic and childish.[DOUBLEPOST=1381583217][/DOUBLEPOST]

But he does time after time I finished 10th but was sacked is his constant chirp. It wouldn't take much to add I finished 10th and had my best payers sold from under me, but he doesn't partly because he didn't and partly because he wasn't forced by Short to buy the players such as Brown, O'Shea, Ji, Wickham and Gardener or the fact that Short supported him in the first place by allowing him to spend £23million on Bent and Gyan in the first place.

Quinn was Chairman when Bent was sold and he even said at the time his head was turned by the cash Villa offered and wouldn't listen to us offering the same.
As for Gyan if Short was so desperate to sell why did he go on a years loan first...............he too was turned by the lure of loot and there was nowt we could have done about it.........

I'm not sure if it's really football matters he needs help with. He should have enough people around him there for that and, to be fair to him, he is a bit of a football obsessive himself. I think the club as a whole would benefit from something identifiably 'Sunderland' on the board though. Someone who we know knows the club, the fans, the history etc. As you say, since Quinn left the top end of the club almost seems sanitised.

You asked me the last time he played well. I told you. You then lied suggesting he didn't and now you're turning your point around. Show some consistency at least.

Not just Sessegnon or Mignolet but we have struggled to replace a number of players throughout his tenure. Byrne said last season that we planned on holding onto our better players, we didn't. We sold them and brought in a number of average players. The results and our position in the table don't lie.

The same thing happened with Reid and Murray. We failed to replace players like Hutchison. Thought we were being clever. Finished 4th bottom. Yet again, failed to bring in sufficient quality and we were subsequently relegated.

It's the blueprint for failure.[DOUBLEPOST=1381583529][/DOUBLEPOST]

But Short was our owner.

The Gyan sale was particularly difficult to take as he was sold after the transfer window closed. A snakey thing to do to our fans in my opinion. Fair enough sell him but we needed another player!

It turned out the on loan Bendter was his replacement. It took the piss out of the fans completely.[DOUBLEPOST=1381583613][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes as his head was turned and he didn't want to be here...............and he wasn't sold he went on a years loan..............

The only "snakey" business was by the two players concerned who clearly didn't want to be here........if you had seen bents pathetic display against the scum prior to his departure it was blatantly obvious..................

You clearly have an agenda against Short but these two "examples" do nothing in the slightest to back it up...................

An agenda? What agenda could I possibly have? I've asked questions, you don't like them and disagree therefore I have an agenda against the owner. Give me a break man. It's a discussion.

As the owner he has to take responsibility. We'll see what happens with Poyet. Personally I am happy with this appointment. The original post was made prior to the Poyet appointment. However I still disagree with what happened to Di Canio.

Your assertions regarding the sale ( and loan ) of those two players are totally and utterly wrong............and why you try and used the "sale" of Gyan after the transfer window as a weapon is rubbish as well............it wasn't after the transfer window of the country he wanted to go to who had waved Wonga in front of his beak.........

Youre on your own on this thread which tends to tell all of us something.................

No I didn't lie and no I didn't turn anything round I've constantly said that Sess had his moments but far too often he only did it when in a big game or more to the point when he wanted a pay rise which was the previous summer. As for Chelsea - the Chelsea away game he was excellent in was the one the year before but don't let facts get in the way of your petty argument.

No Mignolet will more than likely finish up at £11 million and its the 7th highest fee for a keeper in the history of the entire game...............

The figures are irrelevant to some people, they expected us to keep Mignolet and let him go for nothing in 2 years, keep Sessegnon, still sign Giaccherini and still pay £8-10m for a central midfielder as well. And if we were still bottom of the league the owner would have been a joke for not allowing the manager to buy full backs.

I thought you would have gathered that I meant the end of our transfer window.

I think the club let the fans down. We were fairly optimistic at that time but even then we felt we needed another striker. Then after the window closed the club suggested Gyan had forced the move. That's bollocks. They knew he wanted out, failed to adequately replace him and blamed Gyan knowing fine well they weren't under pressure to replace him as the window had closed.

It left us awfully short and as such we had yet another poor, disjointed season. We had to rely on Bendtner, a loan player as our sole striker.

I don't think I'm on my own at all. I think many shy away from giving their opinion as they're easily jumped on by people like you who don't have a great argument themselves.

So to sum up youre not on your own but nobody else dares post stuff to support you.........

Folk are so " scared" to post on here that's why there are always well over 1000 on here at anyone time....

That's a weaker argument than the one you've based this thread around..............

you put some good points across and many hit the nerve of some posters who cant see any wrong in these past mistakes , whilst i dont agree with everything the last sentence in your post is spot on

That's not true at all. If our best players are sold it is only right that our fans expect them to be replaced by quality. It was clear as day that we needed to bring in 4-5 quality players in the summer. 3 minimum. We brought in 2 and on top of that we lost 2 of our best players.

It's not surprising we are in this mess.

Norwich, Swansea, Southampton and the mags all hung onto their players and added some additional quality to their side. Therefore improving their squad. We failed to do this and not for the first time as noted throughout this thread. You can argue all you want but the results confirm this.[DOUBLEPOST=1381589891][/DOUBLEPOST]

The thing is chucky day to day I know people share the same opinions. I know some of my points can come across extreme but it's the best way to gauge what people really think.

The majority of posts are often replies from people I've upset and would disagree just for the sake of it. It's also obvious that there are a lot of posters on here who don't even attend the games.

I was surprised at how many wanted us to appoint Pulis, Reid or Ball as our manager. Mental!

Just done exactly that haven't you and it hasn't stopped me from replying yet you claim the reason your argument lacks support because folk dare not reply..................

Funny how its your "opinions and assumptions" that you claim as facts are the only ones that folk don't back up then isn't it....

Nothing to do with the fact most disagree with you is it..........

You ignored the first point in the post you quoted as you can't not disagree with what I've said.

You're going off on a tangent and you've resorted to laughing at your own posts. I think you've said all that's needed to be said.

No I am pointing out your hypocrisy in stating your are in a minority because folk are scared to support you...the tangent was introduced by yourself as some sort of defence and its as good as ours at the moment....

Presumably you must be some sort of god as you assume its only you dares support your own thoughts and opinions........

That's laughable mate perish the thought more folk disagree with you its the fact they dare not post it..............

And the point you ignored? Do you always laugh at yourself? That must be awkward socially.
