Short Is Failing Us

So did he have a say in signings or not?
obviously not.

He sets the parameters for players we can all agree on, he asked for 2 english centre midfielders and got none, he asked for huddlestone and didnt get him. It's safe to say the manager doesnt have a say.

De fanti failed in his recruitment this summer, it's plain as day. We've mainly bought shite.

Let's stick with this then, are there any decisions that seemed right at the time that are still right? Is this billionaire just on an unlucky streak, or maybe he knows fook all about football and fook all about running a football club? Nobody can deny he hasn't put his money on the table, but it has not improved us.

It's no good saying we would have gone down under Drumaville management, nobody can tell.

The economic crisis fucked Drumaville over and left some of them losing a hell of a lot of money. They didn't have any to put into a football club. They would have taken us down without any question. Short has kept us at this level for the longest time in 50 years, so he's obviously got a fair few decisions right.

- Why did we sell Sessegnon and not replace him?

- Why have we brought in bargain basement players and little quality?

- Why was Di Canio only given 5 games in charge after bringing in so many players in the summer?

- What's our strategy? Does the club have a plan for creating a strong football team? The Udinese model is all well and good in terms of making profits but as a football supporter are we going to see our side win many games... if any?!

Based on the cheap signings we've made very few sides would want to sign them. That's not exactly how the Udinese model works is it?
Do you not think giacherinni is a good replacement for sess except younger and on less money

He's only a year or two younger isn't he? And no I don't. That's not how you progress. We should have brought in Giaccherini and kept Sessegnon.[DOUBLEPOST=1381571379][/DOUBLEPOST]
What a load of shite. Are you 12?

So you were happy with us letting Mignolet and Sessegnon leave for only 15m?

I think it was more like 17 and yes. That's good money for those two

No. Mignolet was 9m. Sessegnon was 6m. It's easy maths fella.
Sess was more than that cos W born signed another player for 6m and sess was their highest fee. 29yrs old, playing rubbish, not interested on big money. That was a good deal. Giach two years younger. Simple maths fella

Sessegnon went for 6m. He wasn't playing worse than anyone else and pretty much won the games to keep us up at the end of last season single handedly.

Yes he was and no he didn't. It was right to sell.

Clueless. Well that 6m has come in handy.

We're bottom of the league and Sessegnon tore us apart on his debut for West Brom before doing the same to Man Utd at Old Trafford. At least we have 6m in the bank though, nice one.[DOUBLEPOST=1381581884][/DOUBLEPOST]
Was that the home or away game before Chelsea away! Its so memorable you can't even remember it.

Eh? Note the comma.

No Mignolet will more than likely finish up at £11 million and its the 7th highest fee for a keeper in the history of the entire game...............

Aye and you are wanting the bloke who keeps us afloat to walk away. Have a word with yourself before you tell us will you

Ellis Short definitely isn't the problem at Sunderland, like. I can understand the frustration and he needs to have got the Poyet appointment right, but we are much stronger with him than without him.

You think he was good at Chelsea joke - Sess didn't play well in any game after Christmas and was awful home v Man Utd, Norwich, Arsenal and Swansea and away v West Brom (10 mins at the end excepted) QPR and Reading.

I don't want him to walk away. I want. Him to succeed but if we do go down, serious questions need to be asked and he should be made accountable for his decisions.

It's his new transfer policy/appointments that have gotten us in this mess. The buck stops with him.[DOUBLEPOST=1381582407][/DOUBLEPOST]

You asked me, I answered. He had a very good game against Chelsea away. If you think otherwise then it was pointless you asking the question as you are willing to lie to try to prove a point.

How many great games have Johnson, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, Fletcher had that you can remember?

Those were the people Sessegnon was playing with. Fletcher and his goals aside, the others have been well below par. To single our Sessegnon is nonsensical.

Earlier on you pointed the finger at Short selling Gyan and Bent. I am quit confident that if short had sold those two Bruce would have mentioned it every time he mentions 10th.

Who was stand out in those games? What a silly argument. As a team we were under-performing. The manager was under-performing. To single out Sessegnon is ludicrous.
