It's amazing what some fans will let players off with. He basically stuck 2 fingers up to every England fan in the country and some still lick his arse.

Like fuck. What he did was slate one player who he didnt really like. Most cricket fans want to see the best players.

Wouldn't surprise me, he's clearly a grade A bellend. This could be a big mistake from the ECB and a huge stab in the back to one of the best captains we've ever had.

Bigger mistake not to pick ya best player.

Edit: Strauss wasnt even that good a captain. He had the tools to get results at his disposal. When the going got tough his tactics were often shown to be poor.

Not as simple as that though is it. If our other good batsmen think he's a twat and watch him getting recalled after the way he behaved, they're going to feel a bit pissed off about it and rightly so. It's hardly going to make them raise their game, and it's not like Pietersen was stringing together century after century before he was dropped anyway.

Some people seem happy to let players get away with anything they want cos they're good at what they do. Strange principles imo. Hope this doesn't set a precedent, gan on like a twat and betray your team, dinnit worry about it, you'll be fine.

Seriously, what a load of tripe.

Wasn't Strauss allowed to duck out of a tour because he didn't feel like going? And he was the captain.

KP is history, he'll be at a university outground in April if people are that obsessed with him.
Aye.

What would Pieterson have to do for you not to defend him? You are aware that he was gossiping to the opposition aren't you. You think that is fine and dandy, i don't.

Tell me exactly what he actually has done. I don't need to defend him at all.

As far as I'm concerned some of the other prima donnas in the team, and I'm primarily talking about Stuart Broad, ought to think about the punters who have shelled out upwards of £75 to watch the best players, rather than schoolkid squabbles.

Gossiping to the opposition? Ffs :lol::lol::lol: Off with his head.

I was joking using the term "gossiping" tbh. Seems to have flown over your head, big surprise. "Colluding" would be a better word, who knows what else he has been saying but the trust/bond between him and his supposed teammates and a lot of fans has been broken irrepairably imo. All down to his own arseholedness n'arl. You just have lesser values to me and your "win at al costs" attitude speaks volumes for you. ;-)

You should get off the sauce mate.

Colluding ffs:lol::lol: To do what exactly? Obviously scoring 149 in his last match was part of it.

who knows what else he has been saying
Incidentally, you certainly don't.

Well, whatever was said, the general positive reaction from players and fans alike to him being dropped suggested that it was enough to warrant him never being near the side again.

Would you forgive him of anything he did wrong? Any idea why he has been a disruption at every single team he has been at? I'm sure this indescretion was a total one off.

The fact he's back in a couple of days time suggests even more that it wasn't. People like you can't see the wood for the trees.

Not anything, obviously, but nothing he's done so far. Why make stuff up just so you can hate him?

I haven't. His previous and current actions are enough for me. I would be the same whoever had done it with the same baggage attached. "just so i can hate him" ffs.

So at what stage does he cross the line? Slagging off his team mates to the opposition during a match is obviously ok, as is having a go at a rookie batsman as he's walking off having just been got out by the world's best bowling attack. It's also ok to demand when he does and doesn't play for England. Does he need to deliberately leave a straight one? Shell a couple of easy catches?

You can argue as much as you like that people are looking for reasons to hate him, but the fact is, if the ECB saw fit to bin him, they obviously had a good reason for doing so. Equally, they haven't denied any of the allegations that have been in the press, so it's fair to assume there was a degree of accuracy about them. That's the simple reason why so many people would gladly tell him to piss off to the IPL and never see him pull on an England shirt again.

Well when it comes to shelling easy catches, and slagging people off in texts, Swann ought to be dropped straight away then. And we've seen plenty of England batsmen leave a straight one too.

Warne and Botham, amongst others, said they should have all just got together, thrashed it out, had a fight if necessary, and get over it. Get over themselves. Then we might still be #1 in tests and still in the T20.

And no, you don't start believing all the crap in the press just because the ECB didn't start denying it. Laughable. First time I've heard anybody describe press speculation as having a fair degree of accuracy.

In any case, they seem happy to have him back, not telling him to piss off to the IPL, so it can't have been all that bad can it?

Well, since he's coming back, you'd now have to drop yourself from the team wouldn't you?

In better shape to retain the Ashes if this works out.

What a bizzare few weeks.

That wasn't the question I asked was it. But anyway, I just hope that now he's back, it doesn't turn out to be a massive mistake. He's said all the right things so far, but actions speak louder than words, so if he can back it up both on and off the pitch, then no long term harm done.

It's actually refreshing...I always had the ECB down as a rather stuffy and strict institution. Turns out that you can more or less do what you want/say what you like and only "suffer" by being given the summer off.

Fair play I say.
