Can't believe some people are gutted about this. The city and workers have done Nissan proud for over 25 years. Of course Nissan don't wanna f***ing go.

labour mp having a pop that some inducements may have been offered to keep / grow Nissan - utter scum
It is a slightly bigger picture than that, he is trying to manoeuvre the Tory's into a corner. Given that it was more obvious than tomorrow ending in a 'Y' it was batted off with some inane ramblings.

Standard fare.

The Labour MP (from London) sounds devastated jobs in Sunderland have been secured.
He isn't he said at the start he was thrilled.

Stop looking for things that are not there.

Its not just the Labour MP, every person on the panel and those in the audience are all wanting to know what inducements have been offered. Interestingly the tory didnt answer the question on what was given.....I am delighted that Nissan is staying, the impact of them leaving would have destroyed this area, on a national scale however it raises the question of whether govt has been held to ransom, are others going to do the same and ultimately if there were incentives offered it will be the tax payer that pays for them.

Fair comment from an opposition MP if they smell a rat.
Tories would do exactly the same if the boot was on the other foot.
Inducements were given for Nissan to open here years ago..it's the way business works nowadays.
With Nissan staying, the whole country hopefully will be more confident about the future...it's a good start to attract more investment and confidence in the uk.

What rat though? Bailing out gambling bankers to the tune of squillions, that's rat like. It's a safe bet even if there's been incentives given. I hate the tories but I think that this is the correct thing to back wholeheartedly

Great work by the Government to get Nissan signed up again, it's pretty shabby that people are digging for an angle on this.

It's a pretty poor panel tonight, very disappointed with the level of debate so far.

He doesn't at all. He's simply asling what if any, inducements have been offered to Nissan.

It's a valid question as it would give some indication of HMG's Brexit strategy but Greg Clark is being very evasive.
He wouldn't give a toss if Nissan was based in London near his constituency. Folk just looking at negatives because the North East are suddenly getting some investment where Labour have failed

He isn't he said at the start he was thrilled.

he doesn't look thrilled and said its not about political differences then has tried attacking the Tory MP over this news. None of them would be arsed if this was a London investment. Tories have delivered for the region, Labour wont like that

Sorry but that's utter bollocks.

Not sure anybody is digging for an angle. What has to be addressed is the fact that 3 weeks ago they were saying no more investment till we see what the Brexit deal is and now they are not only staying but shifting new models here too. I think it is essential that we know, not because we dont agree that a deal had to be done or that it was good for the country but because of the implications for us as tax payers and certainly for other businesses who want a level playing field and will rightly feel slightly pissed off that some companies are being given preferential treatment.....Even if that preferential treatment is just being told what "Brexit" means, that gives them a massive advantage over companies who do not have this information. Is it ok for instance that the flower importer is left in the dark while Nissan has the information given it could result in them going bankrupt.

Sorry but that's utter bollocks.
You really think if Nissan was situated in his constituency he would be bothered how the jobs are secured? It smacks of a Southerner pissed off the Tories have served Sunderland well today. Government deserve a lot of credit for today and I'll be seriously considering voting for them next time round
