Can't make out what the fuss is, unless the ruskies let him go for nowt it wasn't going to happen. Yann phoning up could do nowt

Actually the other way round, we can't do a pre contract with a domestic based player, we can with someone outside the English leagues.

What use is he in January? He can spend as long as he wants in the gym, nothing compares to real training. He won't be fully fit and up to speed until March. Players who are injured do loads of running and weights in the gym but still need 6/7 games to get back to full speed. M'Vila hasn't had a pre-season and isn't even training with Rubin. Waiting until January means we will have a player who is fit for the last 8 games or so when we could have had him for for 30. The money isn't the issue, it's how badly we need a player of his quality playing for us.

In January we lose N'dong for the ACON. We have a habit of coming into our best form after the January window. Better January than never. Would have been over the moon for him to sign now, but no use getting ripped off in the deal the club are in the shit with money. We are on a knife edge, relegation could see us in massive trouble. But yeah let's piss 7 mill away for a deal that isn't vital. We have signed a CM and have 2 coming back from injury.

I wouldn't go as far as to say well done the club like. I'm not massively disappointed with the window but it hasn't been great either. We haven't managed to get several of our main targets in terms of keepers so we just need to hope that the one we ended up with right on the deadline is at least competent. We did buy a midfielder but, having lost a key midfielder from last season and seen another key one get injured, signing one was the very least we needed. We haven't got a striker so if Defoe gets injured any time before Christmas we're fucked, everyone has known we need a striker so it's frustrating to miss out.

They've done well enough with the defence like, getting djilibodji and denayer in whilst keeping Kone suggests we should be fine there, I think mcnair will end up okay as back up too. Januzaj looks promising too.

Some will go on as if it's been a nightmare window, it hasn't been. It hasn't been good either though

Well we went for Hart, then we enquired about Begovic, then (apparently, not sure if it was ever a confirmed bid like) we were in for Ruddy. That was all quite a bit earlier, we might well have been after others as well before eventually settling for this bloke right on the deadline.
