Sounds bad - however maybe we got him over on the off chance his club dropped their asking price on deadline day. Ellis will always try to save a few quid - hopefully it wont bite us on the arse though. If our midfield are overrun week in week out we could be dead and buried come January. Maybe 7 million would look a steal then!

We have one half of the story. Today is not a great day to call a football club. Which number did he call? Has he had an offer from another club; is he trying to get out of his prenuptial?

No it isn't 2 players for 2.5 mill each, wouldn't have become free in January. You want the club to spunk 7 million for 4 months? In January we are still getting M'Villa for free. His club haven't included him in there squad for the new season. So as long as he keeps himself fit in the Gym we have a gaurenteed new fresh player in January.

I agree - however he was over here expecting a deal to be done and its reasonable to assume that the club had led him to believe that. IF Sunderland genuinely want M'Vila it would be nice to see them handle the situation better.

Just posted this on another thread,he was being linked with Sporting Lisbon earlier today and now they've got £30 million off Leicester for Slimani,might be a possibility,wages would be the stumbling block though.
 
This along with no striker signed is a criminal and dark day for safc. We have let a reporter tell us lies all day inside our ground. Dear f***ing me. Mind, no surprise...allardyce is still searching for transfers having flown back, oh wait.
