Has anyone just left everything and buggered off?

I have savings in the bank which was meant to go on a new house and a wedding next year. The missus has fucked off so I'm tempted just to jack in work and go abroad for a few months.

Has anyone else ever quit everything and went away for a while? Or am I jumping the gun here?

Was tempted when I was going to leave the missus a while back. Wouldn't have the balls to do it in person and couldn't be arsed with the fall out so was preparing to just take out a decent bit of cash and go.

Many years ago when I was single I was made redundant so I buggered off and worked in Australia for a year on a working holiday visa. Best year of my life.

The OP will I imagine be much stronger than that. I'm sure he will make the right choice and hopefully it won't be to piss it all away in Cambodia. His ex will piss herself if he does that. Best bet is to come back bigger and stronger not show everyone that you are weak.
