Based on Rodwell, Taino and larrsson have done no more or no less than what whelan has really. Again isn't an improvement on these players just a standard player for our club really.

You do know who Glenn Whelan is dont you?
 
He signed a 3 and a half year contract in Jan 2012 apparently, so he's out of contract at the end of this season, this will be nothing more than agent talk.

I do know he isn't good enough for Stoke any more.
This whole story/thread reminds me of a non story/rumour going around that bruce was interested in bringing Heskey to SAFC.
There wasn't a skerrick of fact etc, but the boss haters then wanted it to be true.

And whelan had more goals and assists for Stoke than catts has for sunderland in a similar timeframe.
Whelan played more due to catts injuries and numerous suspensions mind.
Doesn't mean a great deal really.

And who's to say he would have replaced him? No guarantee of it.
To be fair when I've watched Stoke it's Nzonzi (who is better the catts by the way) who plays more the cattermole role for Stoke anyway.
 
Dear me I'd rather have gardner back he's much more superior and that says it all
