EU Elections

This one doesn't make sense, to me...we're going to pay for these people to be in the European Parliament for them to tell Parliament that we don't want to be there...

There is no other way to show the current tossers In Westminster that you don't want to be in Europe.

If they can't be arsed to vote that's their problem, no one else's.
Don't you think that many didn't vote because Europe/council doesn't appeal to a lot. The ones who are UKIP voters would have voted as they want to make a point, when larger numbers come to vote in the general election, they will probably be voters of labour or tory (therefore negating the UKIP vote).

I wouldn't piss on Danny Alexander if he was on fire,Nick Clegg should have stuck to his so called beliefs and told the Tories that they couldn't form a government with them in 2010.

And there will be plenty of people who just voted ukip, who wonT do it in a General election.

100% this.

If the europhiles can't be arsed to vote that's their problem. Or maybe there just isn't that many of them.

It's not real debt, most people won't come close to paying anywhere near it all off.

Someone of average salary will be paying off £40 a month, under the old system that was £80
It's been what, 4 years since this stuff changed? How do people not get it yet?

I can't wait to hear the Labour and Conservatives to tell me exactly what I think and why and to speak to me like I'm brain dead in an attempt to win me back.

I'm not talking about europhiles, I'm talking about non voters in these elections; these people will vote in the general election and will be traditional lab/tory voters. There was around 33% (?) turn out last week, this will likely double for a general election.

Tbf the Tory I heard said it was a shit night for them. Danny Alexander said it was great for the Lib dems as they might get 3 meps. Or words to that effect.

Worse than comical Ali, that prick.

The last one was about 60% iirc so yer it'll double.

Do the people who want to leave the EU understand the kind of price increases it will lead to in this country?

Maybe compare it to Norway, who are not part of the EU, to todays prices.... http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=Norway&country2=United Kingdom&displayCurrency=GBP
Which is why this will all come out in the wash If we ever get a chance to decide. But at least let the country decide. However, they won't as they are shit scared we won't agree with them.

IMO quite a lot of votes for ukip are just saying, let us bloody decide one way or the other.

Should your presumptions be correct obviously people will be prepared to pay the price to get rid of the monster.

The only Tory worth listening to on the EU is Dan Hannan. Ukip would love him to defect I suspect.

You can't possibly say that is certain, you are not comparing like with like at all and there are far too many variables to .

As has always been the case with this issue, scaremongering about potential tariffs and quotas if we were to leave the EU and this terrible cost to the economy and consumers is the rod used to beat us in to submission.

This I agree with. I just also think the people voting UKIP are blinded by what they want in country, without looking at the facts behind it (like when BNP got voted into Europe 5 year ago)

Correct - especially as we also have our own currency, so nothing much should change. The issue might come with traveling to these countries for work etc. As much as people come to UK to work, people from UK also go into Europe for work.

It wonT happen but if ukip win the national vote then there should be a vote on Europe before may.

It,won't happen as the ruling 3 parties are shit scared we the public wound't vote how they want us too.

Of course they are, because the vast majority of the public don't understand the EU, and are dictated to by populist politicians and the media.

Most would be voting in the referendum without a decent base of knowledge on what they were actually voting for.

It'd be absolutely mental to have a referendum within the next 2 years.
