Labour win in the NE but UKIP vote up by 16%! BNP and Liberals take a battering.

2 x Labour and 1 x UKIP MEPs for up here. Not a bad start.

Excuse me - Sunderland was just the place where the whole North East vote was counted!
Sunderland has consistently declared the vote first with its vast experience so that was the first choice for the count.

A fairly resounding message being sent by the UK to the EU:

UKIP - out of the EU - topping the votes counted
Tories - promising a referendum - second

If this vote ever comes to pass then it could change the whole face of Europe, especially if the National Front force something similar in France.
