I think we need someone who is the finished article due to a mix of how we play and how young the rest of the side is.He's played over 100 first team games and has 10 international caps, how much experience does a striker really need?
He's got similar stats to Jay Stansfield, ie loads better than anything we have. Swansea obviously light years ahead of us though, being able to sign this lad. He's played over 100 first team games and has 10 international caps, how much experience does a striker really need?
We arguably do, but we also could do with someone who is very close to the finished article rather being years off it.I think we need someone who is the finished article due to a mix of how we play and how young the rest of the side is.
I really like Mayenda but, like Hemir last season, we shouldn't be asking him to lead the line. He's still learning his trade.
Speakman clearly knows better. He ticks the boxes for exactly what we needed
Thay kiefer Moore scored too. Just sayingDescribed on sky as a natural poacher who will only sniff around the box and look to score
That keskinen(?) Lad that went to Aberdeen scored today as well
I think he might transpire to be a bit like Grabban in as much as he gets goals but doesn’t do much. We need more than that but he’d still have been a good option as one of two.I agree mate but why would we not be in for him anyway. Especially as he was "free", we need two, I'd still rather have him that nobody. He's clearly miles better than Mayenda.
Just looking at the match stats. He’s only been on the pitch for 17 mins when he scored after scoring on as a 2nd half sub.Debut Swansea goal.
Probably could have done a job for us if we were in need of a striker.
It's only difficult when you're skint. Reminds me of going to Bentleys in the 80s with £3 left in me pocketDifficult market for us. Seemingly a piece of piss for everyone else.

£3, you flash bastard! It's only difficult when you're skint. Reminds me of going to Bentleys in the 80s with £3 left in me pocket
Come on, we’re not buying a finished article? A finished article costs £10m at this levelI think we need someone who is the finished article due to a mix of how we play and how young the rest of the side is.
He costs however much Caen want for Mendy.Come on, we’re not buying a finished article? A finished article costs £10m at this level
If you’re using the definition of finished article as “experienced and won’t improve further”, then that’s an odd argumentHe costs however much Caen want for Mendy.
It's not though, as we loads (and enough) of young strikers who can improve exponentially but it's such an important position that we need an experienced option. It'll also help the young players to train with a player who has learned the tricks of the trade. If you’re using the definition of finished article as “experienced and won’t improve further”, then that’s an odd argument
Its like saying Spurs should have signed Jordan Henderson over Archie Gray
Hemir and Mayenda have barely played professionally. This lad is 22 and has played international football, he went to the Euros. It's not though, as we loads (and enough) of young strikers who can improve exponentially but it's such an important position that we need an experienced option. We shouldn't be asking Hemir, Mayenda or any 22 year old to lead the line for us for an entire season. As well as the fact our tactics mean it's extremely hard work with lack of support, having to occupy both centre halves solo, running the channels, needing to be absolutely clinical and generally having to be an all round striker, there's also massive pressure on the shoulders of whoever ends up doing it due to us not having a proper one for a couple of years.Hemir and Mayenda have barely played professionally. Is he the answer? God knows. Is Mendy however?
