Do you really think Swansea are blowing our wage offer away? All the evidence is that we are pretty competitive- no way Jobe would be here or the likes of Ballard and Others would be staying if our salary offer was shite.

Yeah, I think they probably are.

Jobe is just passing through here, and he's mates are making sure he gets plenty of games before heading off. Ballard and others were just kids when we bought them, they wouldn't have been on big contracts and probably still aren't.

They never made Stewart an offer good enough for him to stay, and it looks like it's the same is happening with Clarke.

Just been that Bardeli from earlier today, Keskinen and Synchuk. We're always going to get linked to promising players though but nowt as an alternative to Mendy.

They’ve signed new contracts when premier league interest has been strongly rumoured and with Seelt and Ballard both turned down moves to Burnley at some point. I don’t buy the poor wage offer stuff, I think we are competing reasonably ambitiously on wages. Not parachute club levels but certainly not below average.

I don't.

Ballard and the better lads will be off next season after more game time under their belts, which is what they need atm, not to be sat on the bench elsewhere....its the whole reason they came here in the first place, the incentive of first team football before moving on further up the ladder.

We wanted Vipotnik last summer, but he choose Bordeaux , there's every chance we'd have been back in for him, but it seems what we offered hasn't been as good as Swanseas offer, and they already have strikers.

the only strikers they had were a young lad they've just signed from Ukraine and a bloke they sent out on loan to Lincoln last season.

Let's hope we land Mendy in the next three weeks then! We aren't really sending out signals to him that we really want him.

I fear a club will come in with a decent bid and he will go there ......at least we can say to everyone that we stuck to our valuation, and refused to overpay!

So let me get this right, there’s a chance we were in for him, but we obviously couldn’t match Swansea’s wages? So we haven’t a clue that we were remotely interested, but our wage structure is definitely the reason he didn’t come, even though we may or may not have been in for him. FFS m8, that’s some well fucked up reasoning.

What's fucked up about it?

We were willing to pay a fee for him last summer but he went to Bordeaux. He's now had his contract ripped up and was available on a free, it's not too far of an assumption to think we'd be interested again with us in dire need for a striker and all that.

Why do you think he's chosen a club like Swansea, who already have strikers to compete with, over a club that made their intentions clear last summer thatt he was wanted, and would have immediately walked straight into the main striker role at the club?.....its because they offered him more money.

Or maybe he's a Swansea fan.
