Wrestling - Part 3

Sunny and Candido as wel as Marty Janetty could be very interesting.
Aye I think the Janetty one will be mental, especially if they talk about Shawn Michaels drugging lasses, having his way with them, then shaving their hair off and dumping them in the middle of nowhere (allegedly)

I think that's who its about but its odd that it shows a Suplex/Brain buster if its about him ( i could just be over thinking it like )

The hair led me to believe it is either, initially DDP but the bike made me think Michael P.S Hayes who was of course a Fabulous Freebird with Jimmy Garvin.

This is from his Wikipedia entry when he left WCW for WWF in the early 90s

Dok Hendrix (1995–1999)Edit

Michael Hayes received a tryout match with the WWF on February 21, 1995 at a WWF Superstarstaping in Augusta, Georgia. Wrestling in a dark match, Hayes competed as a face and defeated Ken Raper.[9] However he retired from active competition due to a serious back injury he suffered while in WCW….

Been reading this thread the last couple weeks or so as wrestlemania seemed to be advertised all over me phone, enjoyed reading things implode as McMahon has returned, been a good laugh. Got me thinking of when I liked it as I kid actually found two wikis of the events I attended in Newcastle

Some big names in there which looking back I’m glad I had the chance to see. Eddie guerrero especially before he popped his clogs, obviously Benoit left the dogs in the pool area not long after that as well so less said the better. Can remember being convinced Batista was looking directly at me sign I’d made for him and being buzzing.:oops:

Went to both of them as well, still have the programmes, got to a WCW show and a Indie type show that if I remember correctly had Bret Hart on it, great days.

Had Kieron Dyer sitting to the right of me at the smackdown show, was just thinking he’s a tossa 😂

That reverse hurricanrana was wild

Sting “I said Cody didn’t I?” 😂 really enjoyed that promo

Ah not again with Wardlow and Hobbs, Christ man we may as well burn the TNT at this point, ne doubt he wins it again next week 😩 funny to think the International title has become the 2nd belt and the TNT is the 3rd (that’s how it feels they’ve been booked anyways) enjoyed him smashing the car up at least and nearly killing solo

Buddy selling them DDTs man 😂 giving PAC a run for his money, wonder if they have Malakai take the belt off OC?

Happy to see Jeff back but I hope they are careful with him this time, less matches just use him as a attraction

Blood and Guts is shaping up nicely with BCC & The Elite

They need to start doing something different with this Outcast stuff, it’s the same every week, heels win, beat up faces , faces come to rescue, it’s like they are buying for time each week

Thankfully they are getting back to Swerve and Keith Lee now, Jericho/Cole should be good too.

A heavy story episode setting up for the future.

I admire how hyped you get for AEW. Every time I've tried to watch it it has been absolutely shite and made zero sense. I don't know who half of the wrestlers are and whenever someone new is introduced you're just expected to already know who they are. Proper mess of a show.

tbh, its a show for people who like indy wrestling, so WILL know who these people are. Its not WWE where everyone is introduced to you as a brand new character, or returning character from the past but with the same gimmick.

Seems harsh to call it a mess if your main gripe is not know who people are.

He's not wrong though. Literally every debutant in AEW you're expected to know whether he's from NXT, WWE or the Indie circuit. If you told me you knew who Vikingo was before he main evented vs Omega, you're an actual liar.

Another myth is that the writing is superior, I look at the likes of Keith Lee and Adam Cole atm and I go.. Nah. They haven't half fucked them 2 mind.

Harsh as far as Adam Cole goes, has been out a while with concussion and that’s halted any booking.

It is a mess of a show. Talent goes missing for weeks on end and angles/storylines disappear. For example; what happened to the Keith Lee/ Swerve story with them tattooed lads and Rick Ross? A few weeks later Lee is wandering about with white hair and a sodding cape! It needs a booker and the talent they have need to listen to advice instead of spunking every move they can do in one pointless match. Theres loads of other stuff on Dynamite and in AEW that does me bonce in but that's enough for now

He had his comeback match against Garcia the other week didn't he? I forget what the point was

Only ever been once in 93 at Whitley Bay ice rink. Main event was Bret vs. Bam Bam with the same ending as their KOTR match.

Others on the card was Yoko vs. Taker, Steiners vs. Money Inc., Tatanka vs. Papa Shango, El Matador vs. Doink and Bushwackers vs. Beverly Bros. The illusion of Papa Shango was ruined before his match because the curtain over the window of where the wrestlers were changing fell down and there he was standing in just his kegs smoking a cigar.

How do you build an audience though if you don't try and get new viewers?

I'd really like to watch it but I can't because nothing gets explained. I watched an episode a few weeks ago where there was a luchador in the main event that had never even been on the show. Watched the following week's Dynamite and he was nowhere to be seen and never mentioned. Just found it seriously weird.

I'm not slagging it for any reason other than as someone who wants to watch it, it's almost impossible unless I sit for a good three solid days in front of a PC trying to work out who everyone is and where they've been before.

Bret was before my time and I’ve never really warmed to him not sure why, even after learning about the screw job. Watched a podcast clip with him and stone cold recently talking through Owen breaking stone colds neck and he just didnt seem arsed about the whole thing, suppose he’s been through a lot. Undertaker would have been class mind, one of my favourites.

I've always felt like that too. But when you hear wrestlers who grew up watching Bret talk about him it's always glowingly.
