Wreckless people during lockdown

people hear and see what they want to. there is also a sizeable part of society that just do what they want, when they want and they dont give a toss. luckily we also have a sizeable percentage who actually care.

For the former its like telling kids not to do something and then them twisting it a million different ways to try and get out of it. But what if this, but what if that?

Its not helped by the usual stirrers and political opponents on social media either flitting from issue to issue with very little constructive input. For me the government advice has been simple and straightforward and they've explained their approach and what we should all do.

the police approach has also been interesting. I wonder if they'll have the same zeal and public shaming approach online when the serious stuff starts down here for example, rather than following dog walkers with drones and picking on easy targets.

Our boy is doing my nut in. First he was saying it was all a waste of time, over exaggerated, media hype. Then a week later it was essential he shouldn't have to work, the government are killing him not closing the sites and not paying the self employed. Now he's at a stage of "being in the house is shit" and he should be allowed out if he wants to go out.

If ever there was cause for legislation keeping people in their houses, he's it.
be interesting to see how many people(and i know a few) come to the realisation after being desperate to leave work once they know the pay is secure, find that sitting at home all day isnt as great as its cracked up to be. especially with all the good stuff turned off. i'e footy, pub, socialising

Yeah mate, think a lot of people were like him in seeing others not working and resenting that they had to. No thought to the circumstances of people not being able to work. It's just people getting time off while they're still grafting. Once they're in the reality of that, like you say, they realise it's not what they thought it would be.

For the record, I'm still working while also being stuck at home. Worst of both sides

If the ones who have to stay home for three weeks can manage to do that, it means the ones who have to stay completely isolated for three months can get back to normal quicker.

Here's a question. I have an old classic car which is nearly empty of petrol. I live on Seaburn Dene. Morrisons' petrol is currently at 102p per litre, i.e. very cheap and I could save about £30 by filling the tank now before prices go back up.

Would I be a public enemy if I were to drive the car by myself a few hundred yards to Mozzas and fill it up using the card payment pump so I come nowhere near anybody, and then drive it straight back home?

Get yer fuel... Old classics are great... What is it ?... I'm guessing a minor or a mgb...

Much more pleasing than the rubber bumpers

Cannot stand seeing car shows where there is a chrome bumper MGB with the horrible plastic dashboard with more modern-looking instruments and steering wheel and deckchair pattern seats of the rubber bumper models. It's a fake. The ride height is higher as well.

1974 Chrome bumper MGB GT. One of the last chrome bumper ones. Bright red (tartan red?).

I had the roadster, same year, in teal blue. Was very close to buying a V8 GT with a nut and bolt restoration many years ago but just couldn't stretch to the £10k price tag.

Beautiful car but weren't all the V8s rubber bumper and deckchair seats? Just checked, no they weren't!

It was back in the 90's but I'm sure it was chrome bumper. I missed out on my dream car of the era. Was offered a TR6 for only £900 but couldn't afford the insurance on it. If I win a few quid I'll get a fully restored TR6.

The more I think of it the more I honestly can't believe people supposed to protect the country are happily getting pissed, spreading the virus in pubs then turning up the next day like some hero to try and save lives. So sad for the victims of this selfish act 😭😭
How can they do that when the pubs are shut?

Politics and spelling mistakes. Getting worse this place. The op was just asking a valid point.
It’s the government’s fault thinking people understood the word essential.

Ya reckon.
I must have missed it.
I’m a Labour voter, but there’s nee excuse for the bellends who are still doing as they please.
Nowt to do with Gove, Johnson or anybody.

Hmmmm, wasnt it Jacob Rees Mogg who recently libelled a medical expert in parliament as he didnt like his advice. Did he not say he was as bad as Dr Andrew Wakefield (of MMR infamy)? The entire Brexit campaign was build on Brexiteers like Boris and Gove saying things like "people are sick of experts" and largely deriding them because the experts contradicted their view..............

Now the very same people want the population to listen to experts and most will but I suspect those who dont are the very same people who were conditioned by the side they supported into believing experts all talked shite.

There are a lot of chickens coming home to roost in Tory HQ during this crisis.
