This year, I've:

Got a new job
Gone through national security clearance (SC)
Arranged 4 mortgages
Got a visa (esta) to travel to America

At no point did anyone ask for an "original" bank statement. Who's rejecting self-prints???

For me to claim my tax back I need original statements.

The one time I did that (5 years ago or so), the bank produced statements with "Duplicate" watermarks on them. Ever since, I've just printed them myself and said they were original!

My bank doesn't even have that watermark on their PDFs now.

The firm who do my tax say they need originals. It might not be the case now and they might be just covering the their arse like.
