Would you accept no promotion?

So as fans what do we do then if we don't get promoted?

Boycoutt?
Get the badly spelled bedsheets oot?
Shout at Bridle insurance?

Its not a case of accepting it or not accepting it. We are the supporters and our role is to try and encourage and support the team. After that, what will be will be.

We have a decent shot at automatic and if that fails we have a decent shot at the play offs. We also have a potential trip to Wembley in the meantime, are unbeaten at home all season and are currently on an 11 match unbeaten run. We have also scored in every league match which no other side in England can say.

Its not been great to watch recently and people are frustrated but we have been in far worse states. People just need to calm down,

Be a disaster if we don’t get promoted, crowds would severely drop next season and will set us back. We don’t have a god given right to be promoted, it’s frustrating at the minute and just hope we fkn click at some point. As it stands I wouldn’t fancy us in the play offs.

If we don’t go up would I be there next season? Too f***ing right I would, beats b&q (only just!)

May I ask why not mate, we've only lost twice all season which suggests we're difficult to beat.

Who are these better players , what we've got now is a load of plodders, unless this is your first season supporting SAFC you have never seen players of such poor quality. As most people agree, we have not played well since the first half against Barnsley months ago , it's a bloody miracle we are still in with a chance of automatic promotion. People keep pointing to 2 facts , we have only lost 2 games and have scored in every game, sadly there are no prizes for this and if we'd won 7 and lost 6 we'd be 8 points better off and in second place. Very poor starting selection tonight, only Leadbitter looked comfortable in his role among the midfield midgets. FTM
Been going to the game 25 years mate do nah not my first game . The better players like mcgeady , gooch , watmore, honeyman , Baldwin , McLaughlin will be away if we don’t go up, other clubs will snap then up

Just don’t fancy us, we are difficult to beat yes but we ride our luck at times too. We have struggled a lot against teams at the other end of the table and unless things change I fear we would fall short. Next two games are huge - we keep saying this!

I would love us to go up via the playoffs, on paper we should smash it but as we all know it’s not played on paper.

Sorry but all the people who won't accept it - what will you do? Stamp your feet, kick the dog? Please tell me in what way won't you accept it? I'd imagine it would amount to being very angry on a message board.

A significant drop in ST holders and, other than the 4 clubs who get promoted from the 4th tier, all aways going to General Sale.

A good percentage renewed on the "lets give these guys a chance" theory. If they fail to achieve promotion from this pub league and expect 23,000 to stump up for draws against Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe and Oxford next season, then they are deluded.

Of course I would because if I didn't accept it and we didn't go up it would mean not supporting Sunderland. A sad fact of life is that you have to accept what you can't control

When we were relegated last season then the new buyer came in they talked a lot of sense about people not taking the p1ss any more and us moving up.

I thought great, a chance to look to the future. Bring some young lads through, consolidate our place in League 1 and sign some young lads permanently. Using the lads we had left from the past as the experience to bring the younger ones on. Cattermole, Oviedo, Matthews, McGeady, etc.

Then I feel like we’ve missed a great opportunity to rebuild the right way. We’ve set off on a journey to chase promotion at the earliest opportunity at all costs. Grigg signed pretty much confirms this.

If you had a choice would you like a slow rebuild if we done it right, possibly not getting promotion this year. Maybe staying in this League 2/3 seasons. Or would you rather we made the current ilk of signings to get promotion this year?

I’d even hoped we’d be offered the chance to buy shares ourselves to gove the supporters a seat at the table, even 5/10 percent would have been nice.

Would be very poor effort not to get up straightaway.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment, we seem to have chased promotion with a collection of mainly journeymen from this level.
I’d be interested to know what the long term plan is,

Its not a choice,if it happens all well and good,if not fans will drift away again and all the good work by the new owners will be wasted.

Not going up will kill this club, crowds will dwindle, players will leave, debts will reappear.
It has to be bounce back at first attempt nothing less will do

Being honest I wouldn't fancy our chances in the Championship with this squad. Unless we have decent money to spend we'd be buried.

There is some quality in the squad. Weve seen glimpses of it here and there, particularly earlier in the season. This clown is just not utilising it properly. Though apparently you arent allowed to point it out or you get branded as a f*cking "bedwetter"
