Was a typo, I meant more than a tenner!

I'm red all the way, had some really nice Merlot's on holiday. I've been recommended a few Pinot Noirs that are stocked in Aldi, might have a look down tonight

 Merlot is my preferred, along with Rioja and Chianti. All about the tannins.

Natural and skint contact wines are very 'in' at the minute. Some of them are lush with umami notes, others taste almost exactly like Scrumpy Jack. Very hit and miss.

Hungarian ones tend to be very good.

Problem with wine tasting is that you either need a tour or a designated driver, why its so fun in the US is you can just Uber between them

Indeed. Some specialist places will offer you flights (not planes), so you don't have to go on the mooch. Not as good as touring vine yards obviously.

Anywhere between £5 and £10 for a bottle of red wine for me. I tend to bulk buy when there is an offer like the current 25% off if you buy 6 bottles or more at Tesco. Aldi regularly have 'wine festival' type events with some bottles of stuff they don't ordinarily stock and I've had some cracking wine for £7/8 per bottle.

Yeah absolutely, Aldi has some cracking stuff in at times especially.

Could be where my redundancy money goes!

You can get it for less than a euro a bottle here. I normally end up spending 3 or 4 euros on a reasonable bottle.

Anyone really into it?

Slowly getting more interested in it, visited some wineries in the US and France recently. Its all a bit pedantic, but occupies the mind and its stopped me binge drinking.....but not drinking.

How much is too much to spend on a bottle?

Definitely.

"How much is too much" depends on how poor you are.

At my most flush I've regularly spent £30-£40 per bottle and try loads of different types, but nowadays I have to settle for supermarket prices, so I've found a couple of nice ones in the £7-£10 range that I buy either one or the other of pretty much all the time... a Bordeaux in the Co-Op called Vieux Manoir and a Cotes De Rhone in ASDA called Vinsobres.

Less than a Euro a litre here from Farmers co ops.
I cart it home in eight litre containers, same as the locals.
