Why Can't 80% Of Season Ticket Holders Be A***d To Go Today?

Going but don't normally
The various cups aren't the league
League games you've prepaid and just show up
Faff on getting tickets sorted for your group
The lads take a bit of your time already ,I've plenty going on outside of it

I’m going but…..

Not everybody on here is 18 with absolutely FA responsibilities, no mortgage, bills etc.
Not every ST lives in an SR or NE postcode. For many a hone game is a considerable trek.
We’ve had a load of away’s in a row which several thousand ST’s have attended at great cost.
The opposition are one of the lowest ranked teams in the FL.
We’ve been total dogshit for the last couple of games.

It’s easy to understand why so many can’t be arsed with it.
This, would rather watch the cricket and actually not ruin my weekend again.

Spot on. I'm only 37 but feels like I've heard the "real fans would be going" argument for years. Often regarding those who go to the most away games being the "most loyal". Generally from younguns living at home with their parents, plenty disposable cash due to no bills or mortgage, lots of mates going to the games, no children or partner to worry about. It's easy to be an uber at that stage. I've seen loads of them (some on here) change from that as they've got older. Happens to us all. Fair play to the ones who can keep going to every game as they get responsibilities of they can do it without prioritising it over more important things. Can't wait till my bairn is desperate to go to as many games as possible, I'll be back at them. I'll do it when he's grown up and doing his own thing. Loads have plenty of perfectly acceptable reasons (including "I can't be arsed") for not going

I won’t judge anyone for not going, whatever their reasons.

It is obviously very disappointing to see that the ticket sales are so poor though. I think that the club need to try to understand the reasons why and do something about it. I don’t believe it’s as simple as our recent form.

I logged in weeks ago to buy my seat but found it wasn't available (west stand right next to the padded seats in the centre). So thought fuck I'll just not bother then. None of us from the usual group of 10 who sit in 3 areas of the west stand are going. As for support, safc will have an absolute minimum of £730 from me this season. As others have suggested they should hoy this in with the SC price and open the whole ground. They are presumably making good money from streaming sales these days to be able to afford to do this + merch and refreshment sales at the early round Cup games themselves.

Been called a shit fan and weirdo etc on here re the above but can only be honest. I prefer the familiarity of where we sit, did all the cup games in the east stand the year we tonked the mags and city etc but just can't be chewed with it.

For a club that draws 30K for league games to drop down to drop below 6K for 1st team cup match is f***ing ridiculous. In the old days I've seen our crowds recorded as 50-60K one day an below 5K the next and that would been purely down to the poverty of our area. Today's crowd is purely down to people thinking its below them to watch their team in the early round of the cups. If you can afford it you should be there.

Glad you’re here mate I was worried I could spend my money on what I wanted.

Were you at QPR, Rotherham & Sheff Wed?

I can’t be arsed to watch another dire Lee Johnson masterclass if that’s ok with the OP.

plus I’m ticking the dutiful husband box as I’ve been to two aways in the last seven days then away midweek to Moldova.
I’m having to go the the empire with the missus to see Riverdance tonight.

diddly dee an arl that shyte. Can’t wait 🤔

Went to about 5 or 6 cup games in 18-19 where everyone was packed into the East Stand and all of them were dreadful from a fan experience point of view, so rather not bother.

No atmosphere, not enough turnstiles/bars open, freezing cold, no capacity to move seats when next to groups of charvas, or families with young kids who are up and down all the time.
This. I absolutely detest those games where you have no option where to sit. Packed into one stand when the rest of the ground is empty is no fun, especially when you get sat next to the knackers.
Oh and the fart on with tickets
…and I’m in Spain at the moment 🌞🌞🌞 was careful to book to avoid a home game but forgot all about the cup 🙈

The balls are weak in this one

The FA Cup would regain a lot of its magic if they awarded the winner a champions league place and drastically increased the prize fund. That would encourage the bigger clubs to put stronger teams out and less so their reserves. Bonkers that you can finish fourth in a division and qualify for the Champions League.
