Why Can't 80% Of Season Ticket Holders Be A***d To Go Today?

I’m a season ticket holder and I’ve had no communication from the club until a post came up on Facebook about how to buy tickets at 9pm last night. I’m kind of meh after the last few results, but still might go, but the club don’t seem to be arsed about getting me there so my motivation is low.
Aye that's it, there'll be many factors for many people but if the motivation isn't there it's not there.

The Edinburgh season ticket sol crew are heading down by train as usual. what's the alternate? Shopping, collecting leaves in the garden, tidying the shed etc. It's Saturday in the autumn, that means football.
I do have sympathy for the fans who have been to the recent away games and can understand why they are not bothering today, they have suffered enough.
We are in the East stand today so I've looked out a tartan blanket and a flask along with bolid sweets to rattle around our teeth to make the traditional East stand noise.

For the majority of stay away fans : --
Nowt to do with money.
Nowt to do with other priorities on the day.
Nowt to do with the quality of opposition.
Nowt to do with current form.
Quite simply there is little or no magic anymore in the cups.

Went to about 5 or 6 cup games in 18-19 where everyone was packed into the East Stand and all of them were dreadful from a fan experience point of view, so rather not bother.

No atmosphere, not enough turnstiles/bars open, freezing cold, no capacity to move seats when next to groups of charvas, or families with young kids who are up and down all the time.

ST holder here. No motivation to travel 40 mins each way watch a reserve game pretty much.

Imagine it will be the same for most other ST holders aswell. Wouldn't be there if the tickets were free either. It's nothing to do with money for us.

I won’t judge anyone for not going, whatever their reasons.

It is obviously very disappointing to see that the ticket sales are so poor though. I think that the club need to try to understand the reasons why and do something about it. I don’t believe it’s as simple as our recent form.

For a club that draws 30K for league games to drop down to drop below 6K for 1st team cup match is f***ing ridiculous. In the old days I've seen our crowds recorded as 50-60K one day an below 5K the next and that would been purely down to the poverty of our area. Today's crowd is purely down to people thinking its below them to watch their team in the early round of the cups. If you can afford it you should be there.

Should factor in these games to season card costs imo, make each game a fiver or a tenner or something for the first few rounds. Unsure if many would go even if it was free though.
Early rounds of the cup used to be free for season ticket holders. Used to be coupons at the back of the book.

No they shouldn’t. Who are you to say that like? Are you in charge of the mint supporters club?

Go to the game and enjoy it. Don’t worry about what every one else is doing.

I pay for a SC got me and my two boys. Over 500 quid. I’m not paying out to watch another wank team in a cup that is pretty much pointless to us. Just another Saturday without a league game to me. Shite

For me, I've got my 7 year old his first season card. Used to drop him off at his nanas if there was a game he wasn't bothered about going to, or drag him along anyway, but recently realised I should grow up and stop prioritising myself over my son on the weekends.

Unsurprisingly he has no interest in going along to this one, it's hardly going to capture the imagination of a youngun. He wants to go watch a film, go bowling or go to a games arcade instead of freezing watching a first round cup tie with one stand open. If I didn't have him I'd go because I'd have nowt else to do. Instead I'll adjust my priorities accordingly, save £30 or whatever and spend it doing something he'll enjoy.

Generally once you get to a certain age, with other responsibilities, you stop caring if people think you're a great fan or not. If I had the time and the money I'd go to every game, but life happens and if some of those (on twitter and the likes) I've seen questioning fans for not going to this are over 25 I'd suggest they need to get a grip

That's a hell of a lot!

I'm gannin, like.
The crowd for today was never going to be that big. But I think the last two games have mildly broken people.

We thought this season was going to be different its probably not going to be. The squad all of a sudden looks weak in places and I just think people are utterly fed up with the club. I know I am.

I also think pre Rotherham we could have taken 8k to arsenal. Now I think it'll be about 3k. Huge mood shift in the support this week.

I’m going but…..

Not everybody on here is 18 with absolutely FA responsibilities, no mortgage, bills etc.
Not every ST lives in an SR or NE postcode. For many a hone game is a considerable trek.
We’ve had a load of away’s in a row which several thousand ST’s have attended at great cost.
The opposition are one of the lowest ranked teams in the FL.
We’ve been total dogshit for the last couple of games.

It’s easy to understand why so many can’t be arsed with it.
