Whisky

I saw Bowmore 12yr old on offer, its awful, what happened it used to be a decent dram, this has almost no nose and a very Ethanol taste, not nice at all.

Bowmore have gone backwards. I've got a bottle of 12 open and I agree.

edit - the 40% abv doesn't help.

yes...do also like the TB and while I can’t see which Glengoyne sure it’s decent 👍

It's the 12, my second bottle cos I like it, I get sherbet
Also got the 10, I find them really easy to drink.
A lot of mainstream whisky going backwards in terms of quality these days, no different to any other food or drink manufacturer mind. Everyone's in it for profit these days
Even the flippers.

I think that’s a start then - have you got a link ?

sometimes goes as low as £30 on Amazon which is a steal

Got my first Tobermory from the Co-op opposite the distillery, it was cheaper than the distillery shop
I saw that Spar in the North of Scotland had it a year or 2 ago I bought a few
Quite often the case that distilleries are the most expensive place to buy bottles. Saw a review on Amazon once from a fella who lives within walking distance of the Glenfarclas distillery, however he orders it from Amazon in Germany as it works out a lot cheaper the more he buys
