On the rush hour train home this evening I was shocked to see what I approximated was 50-60% of people wearing masks. I thought the useage would nose dive, and recall on the first lifting of the mandate it did.

A small sample size admittedly.

A minority maybe, but if the Beta variant was to rise like a phoenix then the public would still run free given the chance - there's a reason lockdowns have had to be brought in on the back of an iron fist and in my view it's because the publics own understanding of the situation AND / OR risk assessment is fundamentally different to the politicians and scientists.
