VW Golf R32 ...150+MPH on the M1 ..Getting chased by an M3. (he/she bottled it!)

I was coming back from Cheltenham on New years Day early morning for a match.

Not a soul on the motorway got back to Sunlun in 1:35
 Oh dear, another fantasist. You must know the fella I knew who swooped his glider so low over Doncaster town moor he could hit people with flour bombs dropped from it.

Ha Ha! I have thought deeply about this in Red wine and I actually think it is more like 1:50, as it is so long ago with no speed cameras or traffic cones.

But I appreciate your buffoonery that will almost make me feel slothfulness.

@joemcdokes forgive me for my unreliable quote of actual speed;)

I have a BMW 535 M sport...canny nippy like, more so in sport mode, boy racers nightmare at traffic lights

Had couple of nice 911s in my time but I'm older and wiser now - occasionally miss them just a little when overtaken in my boring Mini. Best part of it was people used to want to chat to you about them when you pulled up for petrol, etc. - ask to sit in driver's seat etc.

As a young man I owned a Lotus Cortina Mk2. I used to try very hard to look nonchalant and cool when people in garages asked to have a peek under the bonnet. That engine had the most fantastic intake howl when vexed. Twin Webers with no air filters on made for very entertaining soundtrack especially as the exhaust on the car was a standard one which was quite muted. My brother used to go grass-track racing at Appleby and there was a Ford Escort Mk2 there with a Lotus engine like mine in it. The bloke drove that car at full throttle all the way round the oval track and it sounded the dogs bollocks!

Xjs v12 5.0 convertible

The front of that car was gorgeous, but the back was a design abortion imho.
