I played local cricket in Durham for 30+ years so know a few lads and I have not met anyone who supports Boro …shed load of Mags mind. Therefore no local bragging rights for me or other Mackems on a Monday morning. But happy to be a Boro hater if it make their supporters involved.

Think it was always seen as a derby for Sunderland fans living in South and East Durham and Billingham, Newton Aycliffe, Peterlee, Horden, Blackhall, Hartlepool, Wingate, Trimdon areas. For some, probably as eagerly awaited as a game against the Mags.
