VW Campervan’s

got a VW camper, just 2 of us have had some great times away in it, looking forward to a 4 week trip 8n June to Scotland, don't usually book sites but as the world and his brother will be wanting to get away we have booked sites. the size is great for 2 of us , and when we in Europe we just use it for a bed as the awning gives us out door living space , bought it in 2018 could probably sell it for more than I paid for it but wouldn't, looking forward to getting back to Europe next year.

I know the Vito range well and they’re superb vans.
I was originally looking at them myself but preferred the transporter. Was probably only on the cab I made that decision mind. Transporter higher outlay but holds its value too.
in that case get a one post 2017 as the ones before that were Merc Sprinters with a VW badge
Probably not be able to get a newer one mind. I'll just pay for the VW badge ;)

Old ones are cool but not practical.
Newer Transporter ones are not so cool but a good piece of kit. Hoping to get one of the latter soon. Seen a nice one the other day but it was white which isn't my colour.
Beach dubbing on August 1st, Southsea Common is a good event, all kinds of Vw's on show including campers, /vans, usually some for sale...., always more there with a nice bit of weather 🌞

we hired one a few year back and done the Isle of Wight on it, learnt some good and bad about them, new job on the horizon which doesn’t involve working weekends so it’s all pointing in one direction.
Yep. Lets you know stuff you like and don't. After hiring we said we'd no need for the oven in one and would prefer the storage space.

Only thing I'd say, is that if you can't get away early on Friday, the idea of "motorhoming on the weekend" can be a bit of a chore.

Running around like a madman to get on the road for 6pm.
Arriving at a place/site for 8pm ish
Set up by 9pm, feeling a bit knackered
Saturday - great
Sunday, up and off the site by about lunchtime
Home by 2pm, unpack everything
Knackered by 5pm

We really didn't enjoy touring as much as we thought we would, especially not weekenders.

the missus literally wants to book a log cabin every weekend I’m off so I’m hoping it might save me money in the long run!
She will be wanting a hot tub inside the Camper tho

They are the pointless wheels of the middle aged hipster who have Gary Glitter beards, wrap around shades, silver skull jewellery-and wear jeans that hang off their arses.

shit I need to grow a beard, hoy out me Oakleys, buy some tatt jewellery and get some oversize jeans then.

Cheers for the help 👍

No.
But when I had my van (various) that was the point in having it. To get away, as much as possible.

Different if you hire one, you haven’t got the outlay to justify using it as often.

A few lads at work have them and they make the most of theirs when they can.
