Have to say as well mind @Doberman should take a bow. Spent ages with the kids, could tell he was a natural around them and will have helped make them feel at home. Whilst we regularly discuss the skeleton staff and lack of "customer" service around the club it is this kind of thing that is lacking. If he wanted to keep doing the role he should absolutely be back in an SLO role and the club would be lucky to have him

I agree.

I was at the statue for flag duty when the young lad came along . There were another couple Ukrainian families there and his face lit up when the blonde Ukrainian mother spoke to him in their language, welcoming him into the group.

Emotional it was.

You're either Yoda or Jim Macdonald. Either way I claim my £5.
And you can hoy it towards the young lad and family

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Could you not propose the club try to find a role for him, as a conduit between the club and the fans, as it would also take some of the pressure off Chris Waters, and maybe free him up to do other stuff ?
Absolutely brilliant this. May disagree with each other over the footy but a fantastic effort from everyone who donated.
Glad he enjoyed himself
👍

Indeed he did, he helped with the kids right through till kick off. He also let the kids choose a flag each to take home, amazing generosity. Dunno where my lad is going to put it like, its almost as big as me!

My son and I have volunteered to help with the flags next season as I know they have struggled for numbers 👍

@Doberman 🙏

👍

I know Chris' matchday itinerary almost as well as he does himself and knew he'd be tied up with the flag bearers and mascots after introducing the group to myself in the Roker End so made sure I stayed with them all to answer any questions to take the pressure off Chris.

Was an absolute pleasure to meet the group last night. I really enjoyed the challenge of communicating with and supporting a group with a basic grasp of English.

I hope everyone enjoyed the visuals on display in the Roker End last night and thanks to the group for their help @exiled_in_manc !

Kind words mate, cheers.

Good man, @Doberman
I know of the cracking job you did when you were employed by the club, and I know you'd be a huge asset to the club, if they could find it within themselves to rehire you. (I think I may have met you briefly, at the International Fans Day event at the SOL)

I always enjoy the Roker End flag display, and though I'm not from a mining background (mine is steelworking) my mates who are all from mining stock, are particularly impressed, with the miners banners on display.

Keep up the great pre match work - it's appreciated, probably more than you realise. 👍

Thanks mate. Yes that would have been me at IFD.

It's always great to hear comments about the miners banners. :)
