@exiled_in_manc dunno if it’s any use but I upgraded the bairns x box at the weekend so have an x box one s 1tb just sitting here, was only going to hoy it in CEX. Pm me an address and I’ll sent it down and I’ll throw in a copy of fifa 21 I think it is, bairn didn’t like it so it’s still in its wrapper. Should be able to get it posted Wednesday at the latest as not there tomorrow.

Unless anyones passing Washington Village around 6 tomorrow and can collect it and meet up with you.
Oh wow man, that's utterly amazing. He played FIFA for the first time today with my lad.

This is going to make his world! Amazing!

Thank you thank you thank you.

I think this is a great idea and can it also be for non Ukrainians ?
I've messaged RAWA about it just to see if there's any possibility of doing something like that and will try to speak to them on thursday at the meeting as well. In my message I've deliberately said refugees, rather than ukranians, because I agree that it should be open for anyone who has fled anywhere and come to Sunderland and the surrounding area. Hopefully RAWA will be able to look into it but if not I might just try and do it myself tbh, would need to contact local charities to gauge interest/ logistics but I'll definitely try to make it happen and will speak to Chris Waters about it as well

***UPDATE***

Thanks all, I just thought I'd drop in a quick update.

The donations, monetary and physical have been flowing in over night and we are absolutely blown away with the generosity shown here.

After speaking with Chris Waters yesterday it looks like we may have another Ukrainian family arriving for the match this evening too, which will be great as it means Nazar will have someone he can speak fluently with. I'll try my best to keep everyone posted!

Nazar spent the evening playing with the other boys in the village, then came back to ours and was introduced to FIFA on the xbox, I think his little head is about to explode! I saw mum and sister at the school gates this morning and they both have the biggest smiles on their faces, (and they don't even know about the fund raising that is coming their way yet).

Thanks to everyone who has donated, and for the kind words of support for everyone involved in helping to improve their situation.

Cheers

T

Made my day this, not gonna lie made me cry, just goes to show the power of football and the power of people when they get together.

Alright lads and lasses.

Last week we had a Ukrainian family move in nearby and my eldest has befriended their son.

He loves his footy and my youngest lad has very kindly donated his season ticket to this young lad so he can experience live footy for the first time.

Obviously the lad has arrived with just the clothes on his back and has very little possessions to speak off, certainly nothing footy related anyway.

Iv dropped Chris Waters an email to see if the club are in a position to donate anything for him that we could collect on the night.

Bar Chris managing to get back in touch with me (it's only 48 hours till the match) does anyone have any ideas on people at the club to contact / places I could contact to get the lad kitted out with footy gear?

Cheers.
Class that like mate well done. Hopefully he gets to watch us win

Good man. Football would be a great way for helping new arrivals settle. Its a shame the dates are out of season but i've worked on this before The Great Get Together it makes a difference people who wouldn't always meet just being in the same space.
