I've entered the ballot, will see how I get on then think about charities.
If I get in, it'll be my 4th. I'd love to get under 2 hours (current PB 2:08) but I never do enough distance training.

Me and a pal have entered the ballot, furthest I've ever ran is 11k
you will be fine 11k is about half way aint it so thats a good starting point, a few longer runs and u will cruise through till the last mile then its sheer pain.

After 3 years in a row i'm now retired from the GNR so think will watch on TV.
If you are there to run and get as time as fast as possible then its not a great event (unless you get in front pen) and there are loads of better ones out there.
If you are there to enjoy the day and be part of the crowd then I imagine its quite good fun.
Anyway good luck to all those chasing a place and raising money for charity.

part of the problem is that so many bullshit about what time they can do it in and as a result end up near the front

Could always do the Edinburgh one the day before, was going to be my backup if I hadn't got in, is more a prep race for the york marathon for me.Missed out on the ballot.. shame
