NEDCL AGM last night
Murton and Seaham Harbour entering two teams. Simonside potentially entering two teams.
New league role, no player in the NEDCL can be paid in cash or via any other method. Voted in unanimously.

How on earth are they going to manage and prove players are being paid? I agree with the rule by the way and great to see that more teams will be playing.

Sunday leagues may see growth too so 2019 should buck the trend for declining numbers :cool:
 
Clubs in the NEDL with bars/those that help out coaching kids will be giving lads a few quid for helping out. Lets just agree that players at any level will be getting a few coppers for their efforts on and off the pitch and not impose rules that keep it all hush-hush. Its hardly a crime.

It will go on that's a fact. It's always been a league rule, but tightened slightly. As stated at the meeting, people can be paid for coaching and groundsman roles. But not for playing.
Plus division 2 playing 40 overs per side.
Ability for bowlers to bowl more overs to reduce need for extra bowlers.
Plus a slight change in the way finals days will operate.
