The Fishing Thread

Not the biggest, but the first of the trip.

The bay is full of feed, Sandeels, sprat and mackerel. I had to leave a mark last night cos the terns wouldn't give me a minute peace, regularly going for my plug while they were after baitfish

Nice start ! Was that a surface lure ?

Yeah, old faithful, Yo-zuri popper
Aye canny lure, ive had fish on them. Most of my catches these days are on soft plastics.

Ill be somewhere around sandhead for the high tonight, some of the villagers are fishing for shark species, I'll pop down for the craic and try to get a bass or 2 out.

going to a catch cat fish this weekend. There's a spot within 40 minutes of mine. It has huge cats there. Should also get some goldeye.

All catch and release.

Smoothies from the beach?

How much would a half decent entry point to fishing cost? I've always been tempted from a food point of view when doing outdoor activities like trout or something in Scotland. I've had a few chances to do trial days with ghillies but never taken them up.

Recently I've seen that a lot of people have said it's therapeutic for depression and anxiety. I suppose it will be if I can release fish largely undamaged (assuming I develop the skills to catch them first).

Lad from South hylton got a 25.5 Lb cod up Scotland yesterday, and a 16 Lb tiddler the day before.
Not bad. Get loads up there now, Shetland etc is tremendous for big cod etc.

I’ve been on the Norfolk coast a bit lately, few bass here and there but nothing to get excited about. I’ll fish it this winter for the first time, supposed to be good in places.
